Its a lot less boring than the Scottish Premier, thats for sure.
#2
Yes it's not as exciting as the SPL so we may accept 4-5 of your top teams to come play here.
#3
The last English Manager to win the top league in England was in 1991 when Leeds United won the old Division 1
#4
No its not boring, its not all about the team that comes top! As a saints fan experiencing the bottom half of the table for years it was never boring!

That was NOT the Question .. stay on Topic ...

Check most leagues over recent years and I'm sure 4 winners would likely be the norm and number 5 can only be a season or 2 away

I find it boring sometimes and very entertaining other times. The fact that only four teams have won it doesn't make it boring as more often than not the title is not decided months in advance.

For me a lot of the boredom comes from the over physical punt and chase approach employed by a lot of the teams. Even teams with a lot of stars like Chelsea and Man City are pretty boring to watch. Liverpool since the arrival of Suarez have looked entertaining, but to be honest most of the games I have watched this season have been pretty dire.

Check the Spannish league - only been around 3 teams or so winning it over the last 20 years. Same for Italy and Germany.

The Championship was more or less the same prior to the Premiership. Liverpool had 18 leagues by 1990!

There have been some entertaining high scoring games this season - 4 - 4 Newcastle and arsenal immediately jump to mind.

In terms of the quality of the football I think it has dipped this season. Lots of tired legs after the world cup though

err no

I'm already looking forward to next season. Could be an interesting transfer window this summer. Expect a lot of comings and goings from City. Could be some quality players leaving that the other clubs will be after

Spain yes - r madrid, barcelona and valencia i can think of,
italy both milan, roma, lazio? juventus,
Germany is much more random with winners, a team wins it one year and sucks the next, except bayern obviously, such as wolfsburg who won it a few years ago and now look where they are

Yeah, Spain has had 5 teams win it. Should have been 6, but Villareal bottled it.
Bundelsiga has had 7 teams as has Serie A.

4 clubs have won it, but how many have been competitive?

Aston Villa
Liverpool
Newcastle
Leeds (hee hee)
Man City?

Plus if it wasn't for the Premier League, where would players fail/prove to be not good enough/get old enough to play in the SPL?

Isn't the SPL trophy (does everyone who takes part get one by the way?) going to be lifted by a 41 year old who has always been a very mediocre player?

I think the premier league is becoming slightly boring, however it is still a good league.

We're talking about winners over the last 20 years or so. Not all time.

The top level of the league isn't as good as it was a couple of seasons ago. La Liga is much better right now in that respect.

But the league as a whole is probably tighter than ever. 2 games left and there's still about half-a-dozen teams who could be relegated.

It's not predictable that's for sure.
#21
well if its that predictable who do you think will win it next season? Theres going to be a lot of changes at each club

Nonsense about football from FilthandFurry once again. What a surprise.

What makes you think the La Liga is better?

All the football leagues are pretty similar throughout. Unless there's strict control over money and transfers like American sports there will never be a change, it just won't happen naturally.

I'll repeat to make sure you understand.

I personally believe that Barcelona and Real Madrid are playing at a higher level week-in, week-out than the top teams in the Premier League are.

We would never move to an American system. You could say we could move to a rugby-style salary cap system but even then the Top 14 doesn't have one in place at the moment so it would have to be FIFA mandated.

It would never happen I know. It's ironic that the capital of capitalism even made the decision to ensure sport was fairer but the rest of the world never bothered.

I've often said that myself. The worst team gets the best player. That's positively socialist in it's redistribution of wealth.

The problem with football is that it's a global game. If one country institutes a salary cap then the talent will go elsewhere.

Its the best and hardest league in the world. Bar the top 4 teams in spain, everything else is pap. Put barcelona or madrid in the premiership and they wouldn't walk the league like they do in spain.

I honestly believe that messi would get upended. Imagine him going away to stoke with shawcross into him like he did ramsey.

Yes they might be in with a shout of the league, but it wouldn't be like la ligue. Not a chance.
