eON Energy Prices...heading up or down?

Does anyone know which way Gas/Electic (especially electric) prices are heading?

I just had a seriously underestimated bill, enough to consider just paying it and waiting for the prices to go down before paying the big balance...but of course if they go the opposite way it'll be much better to pay it now!

If the bill is underestimated then when they correct it, they correct it at the prices the units were used, so it'll be charged at todays rates. Best bet is to contact E.ON and inform them and get an updated bill now.

I trade natural gas on the markets and the price has been falling recently, but looks like it could be about to go back up IMO NAI

I'm with British Gas and they're not generous with anything really. And before anyone tells me how rubbish they are, I already know, unfortunately I work for the ombudsman so every energy company is rubbish to me lol.

whats the price going at now? When I worked in Gas, we could get it at 0.483 p/kWh - used to have fun then selling it on for 1.216p/kWh for the commercial customers - excellent profits :)

Currently trading at $3.975 on May contract, lol no wonder energy companies make so much if they have such a high mark up on each unit

But if I wait until the next bill, how do they know that I used all those units in this previous billing period...? For the record they've estimated ~£100 for both gas and electic, looking at the meters it should be closer to £500...

They wont really...but you'll be faced with a £900 bill instead if they correct it. If you know you owe them more than they estimated (and they've told you its an estimated bill) then the onus is on you to inform them to stop any arrears building up.

I have now moved with Utility warehouse...with them you can get a certain percentage of your bill when you shop at certain places....something like 1% for shopping at sainsbury's etc....and they worked out my charge will be £50 a month....

everytime they estimate my gas or electric i always ring them with the correct readings and get a fresh bill sent out.
i once had it where i got a gas bill through for £90 for 3 months but with it being summer at the time i thought wow thats cheap and just paid it.when i got the next bill it was nearly £600 as they under estimated it so its just not worth the risk of ending up with a bill that is too high for me to find the cash.

Exactly what I've said before...better to get correct bill sooner rather than stupidly large bill next time. Get things like this all the time at work.
