Coatbridge Tesco Extra

Bought 3 bottles of red wine "Vina Albali 2009 Tempranillo" on a 3 for £12 deal
Went through as £5.99 each and was charged £17.97
Straight to customer services for a nice "double the difference refund" of £11.94 :)
dont know how long the mistake will last but 3 bottles of £5.99 for £6.03 is nice in my eyes

i've wondered with this double the difference, lets say you were charged £5 for something instead of £2, do you get it free & they owe you a quid then?

yes

had it happen with some kids toys I bought my daughter, what they would do is refund you £6

Yes, has happened to us. We have also in the past bought food from the reduced section and for one reason or another was due money. You should have seen the look on the Casheers face. I felt like a right **** though!

Yeah good if you can get it when they were doing the men's shorts (£10) and tops (£5) buy both for £10, they charged me the full £15 so refunded twice the error (£10) so got both for £5. Not too bad but I don't think it happens very often.

You would be refunded £6 at the customer service desk.

You can only claim the "double the difference" once you have been charged.

bit of honest feedback here please folks, why is this getting such negative rating, just so I know in the future what is worth posting or not

thanks

they owe you six quid and you get the items free-best one was the toy story bluray fiasco a few months back-quite a few people got both blurays for free.

Correct, this sites for deals; Not one off glitches. Dont take it personally though. Why did you not go back and try it again, maybe because they had fixed it by then, hmmmm?

TBH I think it's a bit of a mob mentality thingy!!

Yes it's worth posting as a reminder or heads up about double the difference. I have reported and asked for it to be moved to misc - we'll see if anything happens.

Also I think that the title could be worded a bit better - like 'Double the difference for Tesco misprice'. I daresay you'd get a zillion 'members' then posting that they already knew that.

Anyway, misc is the place to post something like this. Keep posting and thanks for making the effort.:D

some people are party poopers, just because its not them. not sure it will help you, but heat added. not a wine drinker but will try it, could make good pressies.
#24
I think you will find that once a mis price has been spotted (ie especially once a refund and double the difference has been given...the staff have to find the item on the shelf and remove the price ticket). This stops the same thing happening again for Tesco. The difference with the tomato deal was that a refund at the desk was not being asked. Most people just went through the tills with extra shopping so that the cashiers were not aware of the mis price.
#25
thanks chesso :) I editing the original title as I just wrote "error in pricing" lol

baronvon - you would probably be better off posting this on MSE, it would be more appreciated there aswell, they have a forum for Tesco misprices. I voted hot by the way(_;)

That's true, I got over charged yesterday on a crate of beer & the SA went straight to the aisle and removed the SEL got a nice DTD though :)

No this site is for all different things, deals, glitches ,advice !! and maybe op is just not greedy so never went back for seconds :p ,
Glad you got some nice wine so cheap op ;)

He wouldn't have gotten seconds, because they remove the label as soon as the errors been noticed first time, so if you go back for more and head to the checkouts they'll go check where the product originally was and look for the label, as it is not there no longer they won't do anything except refund you the money and take the product back, that's of course if you don't want it.
