so, setanta have bought the rights to 46 premier league matches next season.. the slots they have bought are the saturday tea time and monday evening ones...

so far ESPN have agreed a deal to show the matches through sky via pay per view and are currently in discussions with virgin media to access their customer base...

so, what do you think? i guess it depends on how much the pay per view will be and i hope, as a VM customer, that a deal (non pay per view) is agreed :)

Didnt get Setanta and would be very suprised if my dad buys this. Obviously we won't be as intrested in the Premier League this season as we were last.
So not much point really.

So, the rights to screen the Premiership are now owned by Disney - rofl.

Don't bank your hopes on it. Your complaint should be with VM, not ESPN.

well, tinkerbell a.k.a. ronaldo is no longer in the premier league so not quite as ironic :whistling:

i wonder if we will see plenty of "head shots"...

wonder who they will have on their studio and commentary teams...

What is odd is that Sky didn't bid for the Monday night games
They have them from 2010-2013 so would have just been a year early
As it stands, ESPN have the monday game's for 1 year only.......
Would be nice if ESPN did grow mind for us NFL fans :)
Watching Under 21's on Veetle (online) ironically being streamed by Setanta Canada/US i think it is and they have just said they have Premier League Games for next year so must be just Setanta UK/Ireland with "issues" so wonder why the sister company/ies didn't help bail them out?

so setanta have officially gone into administration today.. a total shame IMO, was good to see someone giving sky a run for their money! a shame that sky have such a large market share which ultimately was the downfall of setanta.
