Anyone know any good deals???

some people obviously find there clothing affordable as well as good quality per there budget it will be a real loss, places like tesco/asda have destoyed another business with there similiar lines at cheaper prices....such a shame

It's not so much the trends/fashion i was commenting and highlighting here. It's the potential 2,800 job losses that springs to mind, where as has been said tesco/asda are mopping up the lower end markets, no wonder tesco announced HUGE profits yesterday. Be warned, when competition ceases in the marketplace, monopolies occur

BHS stores are closing down, and Primark opening in their places in some cases, maybe this will get a primark closer to you. lol

BHS as well , love their Tammy clothing.
Shame. You either keep up with the competition or you get left behind...

I think with BHS it's just a case of the owner having had enough and selling up

Surprised at this. We have one locally which has only just been refurbished - waste of money!

Good shop for kids clothes and pjs.

For some reason our local bhs decided to put a coffee shop in there. Cos thats why people are going elsewhere :whistling:
I didnt know that every shop should serve coffee as well

Where did you hear about BHS closing? The Watford one has just undergone a refit with coffee shop. Still seems a really popular store down south - especially at Xmas.

Never heard of Ethel Austin! Is it a Northern store?

Whenever I go in BHS,its always so quiet. I was in there last wk,I was on the floor where there is a cafe, toilets and all the childrens and baby wear. I was only person on shop floor, and the till assistants were just chatting on shop floor, and 1 come over to the tills when I went to till point. I purchased Cerys some school shirts,£2 for 2pk. I bought 4 pks cos the school don't seem to care about their clothes when painting and they get ruined and I bin them before they need to under normal wear reasons.
I not been in an Ethel Austin before. Sounds a bit like a TJ Hughes.

Closest thing to compare Ethel Austin to is Peacocks - or that used to be the case anyway.
