all must be scrapped by law (400,000 of them).

What we saved on the scrappage scheme someone is paying in storage costs I bet.

I think you are missing the point of the scrappage scheme :-D

Amazing picture but as you say this is only 14000 so its a bit scary to think where the other 372000 cars are.

Probably like most people I never gave it a 2nd thought as to what would happen to the trade ins.

Theres only 11,782 there,

how many of the 14000 do u reckon have been knicked

The point of the system was to encourage people to buy new cars, clearly it couldn't be to encourage more 'green' cars as scrapping that load of cars is far worse than the slight benefit of greener cars.

You sound like someone i know called john. Couldn't agree more. They should at least give the opportunity for parts to be salvaged. Shed loads of money could be made and the environmental cost is just cringe worthy.

The environmental cost of manufacturing the new cars is also worse than the slight benefits.

From what I understand, it was to help the car industry during the recession and their workers, 400,000 sales I am guessing is what they sold, that's a lot of cars and money and without the scheme I am guessing it would of never happened.

I just think they should keep a few of the classic cars, just because they are classic.

Yea, I wasn't questioning the scheme, just thought it would be a good point to add.
