I'm tempted to blow some of it, but apart from a new TV, don't really want anything.

I haven't worn a watch for about 15 years, so not really something to tempt me.

My CC bills each month have recently been over £2K per month (and paid off in full). This month, won't be far short of this "super wind fall". Next month will be even more (due to the Granite work tops) The debt will just be cleared as usual when the bill arrives.

But hey..... this is now a "guv" thread and you did ask! :D

Bad advice....Desire have no production to underpin the share price if the current well comes up dry as the first test drill did last week, if the sideways drill comes up dry expect to see Des drop to 30p

buy GOLD!

Given that gold prices are pretty much at an all time high, I think I'd avoid that as an investment!

Surely there's other people of colour in your real life you can harass?

I had 10k in 10's two weeks ago, whilst it was a lot of notes there wouldn't have been enough to bathe in.

I must admit that I didn't try though.

stick it in a ISA acount. youl get £17 a month onit untill you decide what you wana do with the money.
#28
With an unexpected £4K, I think I'd book a holiday with it.

If £4K really is a lot of money to you I'd say put at least 1/2 of it somewhere safe earning a bit of interest - and preferably not instant withdrawal, so you aren't tempted to spend it on crap. You never know when you're going to need a couple of grand. If the car goes bang you can easily blow a thousand or more!
#29
ALICOM007 - what ISAs are giving 5.1% interest at the moment?

It's a lot to some people. I lost £40 cash in Asda tonight and just wanted to cry cos that is a lot of money to me!! Yep...I'm a benefit scrouger and one who clearly doesn't know how to play the system otherwise I would laugh off the lost £40 :(

Fern you are a lovely member and not a scrounger.

Sorry to hear that you have lost that amount of money :(
#35
Bank it until you find something you REALLY want to buy - otherwise you might waste it.
