Got some Jammie Wagon Wheels

Had one and didnt taste any jam and hardly any mallow either.

Opened another and had to really squint and look close to see what looked like a tiny bit of red, and the mallow looked tiny so it tasted ike eating plain biscuit.

Yep, Wagon wheels have changed since I was a young un ;-) Not as nice as then :-(
Same as the 1p cola bottles and other 1p sweets you now get in a pick n mix.
Worst culprit for me is Cadbury's creme eggs, have you noticed how they now have a crystalised feeling to the 'yolk' compared with the old smooth filling ??

Isn't the best example smarties with all that natural colouring **** in them.

Wagon wheels changed the chocolate ratio last year I think, supposed to be more chocolatey.

monster munch used to be much bigger 2, or was i much smaller?

Did anyone try the TEXAN bars they bought back as a promotion a couple of years ago? I used to LOVE them and couldn't wait to get one...they must think we're stupid cos' it was filled with toffee NOT nougat. I was well dissappointed!

Couldn't agree more...

Also, when you buy a packet of sweets, if you fold / squeeze the bag, theres hardly anything in them !!

Yeah, I tried them when they came back and to me the chewy bit was the same as I remembered them, it didn't feel like toffee to me. You sure someone didn't just swap it for a Curly-Wurly with the holes filled in...? :p

My guess is that the centre hasn't fully converted from sucrose into the mixture of glucose and fructose you find in the fondant. Basically they're made the same way all soft-centred chocolates are with the centre made using crystalline sucrose so it's hard and easier to coat in chocolate. The sucrose is then converted inside the hardened chocolate shell by an enzyme called 'invertase' to give you the glucose and fructose which form the gooey fondant.

Everything tastes c**p nowadays, even the fruit.

That'll be your taste buds dying ;-)

Has anyone thought they might be smaller because you are bigger?
Has anyone thought that you don't like them as much because your tastebuds no longer tolerate sweet stuff?
Reseach has shown that far from getting smaller, choccie bars and food portions are a lot bigger leading to the obese state of the nation.

Double Decker bars have definitely got bigger which contradicts the trend somewhat!

Wagon Wheels are gross, always have been, fake chocolate and pig bone content, no ta!

You are probably right about that!
But when i was young my mum shopped everyday, and food was always fresh, it tasted so much better than nowadays, and it didn't need to be covered in spices or sauces! :whistling:

Haven't had a wagon wheel since they changed to that horrid chocolate flavour biscuit!:|

Shame coz I enjoyed every now and then and they are made just around the corner from me(well I think they still do!)

Actually spices and sauces were brought about by the need to cover up gone off meat
