OMG I Hate mouses or rats seriously this is not right. My guess that it got in the house was that there was a hole from outside of the house to the inside that was recently cemented up but it must have come through when it was open. we've had building works recently for about a month now, I've closed the kitchen off of course and i'm bout to put a note downstairs for the other tennants, I'm planning to call my Landlord in the morning of course as that's gross! What should the landlord do after i tell her though?

/there is no food on the floor and I always clean up after myself, We have our recycling bin and our normal bin in our kitchen and they're both closed!

If it was caused by the fact that there was a hole in property then the ll should put down some poison (if it's a small infestation). If I were you I'd buy some poison myself and put it down in as many places as you can find - Alphakill by Rentokil is excellent for mice. Be clear with your LL though that this their fault, not yours (i.e. not caused by general filthiness)

I've just taken my hand off a mouse!

LOl, i got home from picking my kids up from school many years ago and the cat had brought a rat in from the nearby allotments, it was dead and lying across the entrance to my kitchen, i rang my ex up and said just that..how silly did i feel ..he was a builder and p*'d himself along with half the builders on site

Oh and have you heard of a trap?

The mice aint so smart, wee bit of cheese and SNAP.
#21
I know how you feel, we had a rat in our house just after New Year and I'm petrified of both mice and moreso rats.

Phone council - if it's rats, they should send pest control foc. Our council sent Rentokil out and after a week it was gone. The poison was left behind just incase.

Hope you get it sorted.

Random story:

I was queing at Upton Park tube station after going to a game of football, anyway, there's a load of butchers shops snaking up the road where you queue to get back through the station(always smells ghastly).

Anyway(again), on this particular day, I came upon a hoffific site, a rat that had been walking the streets was laying dead on it's front, but get this: it's rear end was mushed like a soggy pancake - but the front half of it was unmushed, as it were. It was in the position of reaching out with it's claws in pain (as it was squashed obviously), it's face disgustingly contorted in agony, frozen in time.

Not a day goes by without me thinking of that poor little fella, hope he got his cheese before he went.
