Ive not got THREE, but have got T-Mobile, which I thought was pants until I got my replacement Vario 3 phone. Hooked it up today to my laptop and its superb. Surfing seems quicker than my 16MB broadband connection (though rather think that is down to the rubbish installed on my PCs at home!) Did a speedtest on "thinkbroadband" and it was over 1mb down and 350KB up, which is pretty good IMHO. Modem is a HSDPA - so when deciding make sure THREE has this - it makes a big difference!

dont go with 3. They give you a deal and find a way to stitch you up.

Ive used my Vario 3 as a modem and its good on t-mobile with web and walk, even in just a gprs signal area its fast enough for general web browsing (not quite broadband but better than dial up definately)

Who is the service with? The cheapest T-mobile service I can find is £20 pm.

Do not sign up - good advice. This is for the 3-network usb modem. It works really well.
Call them and express an interest and ask them to call back later or the next day. They will offer a much better deal. I got £11.50 per month for 18 months, after doing this twice - got a so-called 'one-day' only special offer. 3gig limit, about 2,8mbs - not bad.

So try this first, if it doesn't work, you have lost nothing, but I am certain it will in most cases.

Addition - got my bill today, £11.26 per month and it states the allowance at 3072 mbs. So it is confirmed that they will discount the modem if pushed. The discount is called 'Advocate Discount' on the bill and is 25%. I have no idea what this means though, Advocate Discount!!

Good Luck

Is that just for existing customerss? Just been reading about "advocate discount" on another forum and it was made to sound like it was!

If you get it on t-mobile through the carphone warehouse use Quidco for £60 cashback!

Could be, but still worth a go because they offered me another for my brother, who is not an existing customer, although he declined. I reckcon a call along the lines: I understand from a friend that you have a special offer of 25% discount from a £15 per month 18-month deal coming to £11.36. Nothing to lose, try it, it will probably work - they are very keento grab the market share asap with the 18-/24-month deals.

Good luck

I have a vodafone card and although very expensive, the service and reception is 2nd to none!

I used it quite extensively in Europe as well and have never had any problems!
