Thanks for the replies guys. I'm very interested in swapping, but still undecided on either phone - I'm absolutely stuck on which to get. I've also been told to look at the htc touch hd... it's just getting more complicated! lol

I like the look of the HTC touch HD but it is so large i wouldnt really call it a phone more a PDA

im not going to lie, ive never like Microsoft Windows Mobile, nevertheless the Samsung Omnia has stood out to me therefore I recommend you getting that. Or you could just get the Nokia N85 brill phone!

Does the Omnia support stuff like flash sites, youtube (desktop version not through opera - good quality?), iplayer?

What about the i8510? Would that also have support for the above?

I'd probably not take many photos, or watch too many movies so camera or screen res doesn't matter that much - although being able to play videos decently at full screen would be good.

I've never actually seen or used a Samsung before so no idea what they are like, despite having looked through youtube.

Another thing I would need is a great email application. I suppose the Omnia displays email entirely in html, but would the i8510?

Thanks guys

the I8510 does full youtube playback but i dont believe the omnia does,They are both very different as the I8510 is a Symbian S60 phone same as the N85 N96 so uses all the same apps and also comes with Gmail preinstalled and the Omnia is a windows device
review of the I8510 here
