  pretty sure they don't remind you and say it's up to you to pay and get it updated. think it only lasts 10 years too.

  It's easily overlooked mate. I dont have a car, so hardly use my licence unless it's for ID purposes.

  I have been driving for 11 yrs, wonder whether my name change 9 yrs ago would of been an auto renew! Think I had better check my licence soon then!

  They sent me a reminder/renewal form last year. Took it to the Post Office where they took my photo.

  They sent u a renewal form,give them a ring I'm sure they are happy enough to correct there mistake and charge you £20 to renew lol

  Just send your old licence with a d1 and new photos. DVLA will sort out the rest.

  Jus go in to your main post office with your old licence and apply through them have a service where they will take your pic and fill details on computer and give you a recipet which you can use as temporary licence and you get it within a week mine took 4 days charge you £25 for service

  If you have a photocard licence the date you need to renew that is next to 4b. on the front of the card. On the back will give you the dates of which you need to retake a driving test (i think), its usually 50years.

  your driving license hasnt technically expired you need to change your photo every 10 years to update your appearance
