What is a good make of exterior paint? Im looking to paint the house, but I cant find any reviews of exterior paints. I dont want to buy something that doesnt take the brunt of our weather!
Thanks in advance.

I bought some dulux weathershield its really watery i used it for painting a bay window.
any dulux paints i've had are poor quality. i like to use satin wood for indoor skirtings etc and i got some dulux and ended up throwing it..crown paints are far better and thicker.

http://www.sandtex.co.uk/

This masonary paint is part of the crown family thats what i'd use!

Johnstones is a very good make and used by a lot of painter decorators for its coverage and quality. Never buy cheap stuff unless the you want to do it again sometime soon.

I'm not sure on this but i think it says not to stir it. it was some time early last year when i did it!
Johnstones are i think also made by crown

Dulux trade paints are excellent. I bought some earlier in the year when they had a discount weekend. Look up your nearest Dulux Decorating Centre and go and have a look; it is more expensive but I think it is well worth it. It is very good quality. Also the people in there will be able to give you some very good advice (they did in my local on anyway).

Johnstones are made by PPG not Crown. PPG also make Leyland

Johnstones do a masonary paint called Stormshield
Leyland do one called TruGuard - used this seems to be really good, nice and think
Sandtex (made by Crown)
Dulux Weathershield

They all should be reasonably good quality as they have 10 year guarantees. I personally like the TruGuard by Leyland

Had a painter do my soffits and bargeboards in Sadolin .. it is very good and is perfect for painting on top of existing paintwork. Apparently it reduces the amount of prep that you need to do!
