Hey, does anyone have any money saving tips for booking a FamilyHoliday to the Caribbean? Ie, websites to use, islands to visit and avoid. Booking holidays and Flights seperatly etc. I can fly from the UK or Norway if it makes it cheaper.

Idealy I would have liked to visit the French Polynesian Islands but that is outside my £7000 buget.

Cheers all!

We've visited Barbados - wonderful island but not much to do for teenagers/younger kids to do.

We've also visited Jamaica - great for families as there's so much to do, but everyone expects to be tipped (and they're not shy about telling you!).

If you can, book excursions directly with the company/activity organiser on the internet before you go - that way you don't pay the holiday rep's commission. You can quite often book direct once you're on the holiday - just ask at reception for help.

I've found now that it's hard to get a good saving by booking the holiday myself, so I usually play the travel agents off against each other to get the best deal. When you have a couple of offers from travel agents look on the travel companys' websites, as the companies quite often charge less if you book online rather than booking via a travel agent.
Thanks for the info.

I have found a nice looking Holiday with Virgin called Coconut Beach Resort and Spa. It has great reviews and is meant to be good for kids. £5400 for January. I know a rep who works for Virgin and he is looking into getting me a discount. It will be interesting to see what he can offer me. St Lucia seems to be a nice place to visit too.
