Tricky.................natural reaction would be to shop them in. But if it was my Mum i couldn't. I'd just pay it off and send her for help.

Oh darn hun, you must feel so betrayed :?

Have you spoken to her about it? Why would she behave like that? x

Sorry to hear this DDTA; treatment is really good now-a-days though.:friends:

OP - I have no idea; just pay it somehow and hope she doesn't do it again. Sorry not to be more helpful. Ask at the Citizens Advice though.

She ruined her own credit rating so started on mine. She says that when she orders stuff in my name she always pays for it but must have forgot this one. I am totally miffed with her but its not the first time shes done it to me either, cant get a mortgage cause of her and her past dealings

family = the friends you cant get rid of!

To be honest I dont have a clue, depends if you have a close relationship or not? If it was me then try and work it out, my OH though would gladly report her for fraud, so would the rest of her family.

it would all depend on how close relationship-wise you are to your mum. If there is a long running feud/fall out then I would do everything in my power to recoup the money and get it sorted legally. If you are close then a family pow-wow is in order and try to sort things amicably.

DDTA...........sorry to hear your news, be strong for her hun, treatment is amazing these days xx

I think it depends on how much the debt is.

I know its hard because its your mum but what if she ruins your credit rating, surely there has to be a limit.

Sounds like she really has a problem with this kind of thing honey... sometimes debt goes along with emotional stress. Does she have any form of distress in her life? For some people this is an addiction.

I'm not trying to minimise what she's done to you... that's a betrayal and a half.. but it's always good to understand *why* something happens as obviously you have to have a continuing relationship together.

I think you're gonna have to get really serious with her though hun and tell her enough is enough and not to do this again to your name xxx
#14
my ex done this to his family recently - now wonders why none of them will talk to him, he even claimed housing benefit in his brothers name! - it is fraud, but then as said above, i guess it depends on how close you are??
#15
Not just that what if you let it slide and she runs up debt in someone else in the familys name, would they be as understanding as you?

I think it needs to be stopped now.

The fact that shes doing it behind everyones back shows that she obviously has a problem, maybe a court appearance for her is the kick up the bum she needs.

Dont be silly, you are certainly having a rougher time than i am x x

regardless who it was, its fraud as well as deception!

If it was my mother, whom i love very much, I would demand an explanation and come to an arrangement of her paying it back.
I would look to see why she did it in the first place... and seek to get help.

Sorry to hear about your problems PK... don't know what I'd do to be honest, but like has already been said, as it's you're mum it makes it all the more difficult to shop them.

Have the two of you talked about it ? Has she offered to pay it off?

this happened to me and i reported her to the police ( didnt really get on the great to be honest anyway) however the polie werent interested but they gave me a crime ref number as i reported it and then when i contacted the companys to explain that i didnt sign nor agree to the credit, i had to send in copies of my driving license, complete nightmare and thankfully i got it sorted before it got to being blacklisted or knackered my credit rating ( i work for a bank so dont think that it would go down very well) i haven;t spoken to her since if your own mother can do this to you its unspeakable. i would never do anything of the sort never mind to my own family
good luck
