Fan to CPU... do i need paste?

A quick question really...

I bought a ASRock AMD AM3 mobo and Retail AM3 Sempron CPU. Not opened, or set them up yet. When I connect the fan to the CPU, do I need paste or will it have one of those sticky paste labels that you just peel back and stick to the cpu (Its been a while since I last did it)?

Will come with something, I believe its paste in a bag.

If it's got a label it shouldn't need paste but I'd recomend that you clean the cheap gunk off anyway and paste it with some artic silver not loads tho and dab a little on the chip

LOL!

Yeah, I have fitted a retail AMD cpu before. Just peeled off the label cover and stuck it to the cpu. That PC never had any problems.

But hey! Each to their own. 8)

Actually the pre-applied paste on stock coolers is pretty good these days. Not really worth the AS5 if you are sticking with stock. Gone are the days of the sticky waxy pads they used to ship with.
