Fancy a row!! DO I??

The miserable old bat opposite has now complained that my daughter and her friends are making too much noise on their rollerskates outside her house and told them (very rudely) to go away. My little girl is very upset. Do I go over for a row or not???

go and beat her up
lol

Be diplomatic and kind - it always baffles people and you're more likely to get your way. Ask if you can come to a comprimise, after all your daughter has every right to be there.

buy her some ear plugs and tell her its her problem not yours

If it was me I would be straight over there...we've got a neighbour who complains (very loudly) everytime my daughter ventures outside...really gets my blood boiling. Everyone always talks of childhood obesity levels etc...but children cant go outside because of people like this......:x

Her and I have had a row before. She has just called the other neighbour over and told her that she wants peace and quiet as she works hard all week and this is her day off. Also she has said that if this is what she is to expect all over the better weather months she will complain to the police. She wont tackle me as she knows I will argue back. I HATE HER!!!!! OLD BAG!!!!!

Why not tell your kids not to make a noise outside her house, or better yet, why dont you take them to the local park to play. Problem solved.

I'm not surprised. Unless you get that anger under control, you're gonna scare more than her! :w00t:

I have moved my daughter away and told her not to play there. She really scared her though and the language was disgusting. That is what I am cross about. I understand that the rollerblades get a bit much, I dont appreciate her being sworn at. She told me that the neighbour used th "F" word...

tell her to complain to the police all she likes wat they going to do, arrest your daughter for playing outside:-D
Some people obviously have nothing better to do with their time. I agree though its better to appear polite and nice, it baffles people like that. BUT its impossible for me....I just lose my temper.........:x

Me too! That why I dont trust myself!!!;-)

go over and tell her to GET A LIFE all kids need to play its not as if its 10 at night and your lass is hanging outside her house drinking and using drugs. let her ring the police they wont do anything about it theyll probably tell her to get a life too !!

I would talk to her otherwise it will only wind you up in the long run. Ask her if there is a problem (give her a chance to have her say and makes you appear concerned). Explain that your daughter is very upset (make her feel guilty). Ask her to come and see you in future should there be a problem - NOT your daughter (as it is upsetting her and this way she is less likely to bark at them at every given chance). Explain that they enjoy playing outside (make her feel guilty) unlike most of the other children nowadays (tap into her ages general ethos). At no point must you get angry or raise your voice. This will only give her ammunition to say nasty things about you and your daughter, and she will feel completely right and justified in giving your daughter a row.

I personally would want to throttle her - but you have to live there after today and your daughter might get the brunt of it. She could also be one of those lonely old bats that need to be loved - keep your enemies closer etc lol!

she shouldn't have used the F word thats for sure, but i know from personal experience that kids playing outside can drive you mad. shengis had the right idea. take her to the park.

Well in that case i'd go knock on the door and tell her nicely that you don't appreciate that sort of language in front of your child. Going over with guns blazing will solve nothing and is more likely to escalate the problem. I remember about 8 years ago one of my neighbours had a problem with me parking outside his house (if that was the only place to park, what am I going to do :?). He asked me a couple of times if I wouldn't mind moving so I did. Then one day he came over 'this is getting beyond a joke blah blah', so I went for him, his wife started and she got a mouthful as well

As a night worker I tend to agree with this.

Aye, most people just don't even think about such things:roll:

RIGHT!! I have been over there and she was quite shocked I think. I was very calm and said that I did not use that kind of language infornt of my daughter AND I did not appreciate anyone elss doing it. I also told her that she had frightened my little girl and made her cry. (She was quite upset at this) I then politely asked if she would please speak to me if my daughter was getting on her nerves.
She them apologised not only to me, but to my little girl ( who she called over) and said she had had a rotten day and just taken it out on the children.

HOORAH!!!!!!

I do try to keep her out and about most of the time. There is another fella here that works nights and the chidren all try to keep away from disturbing him as he went the right way about it and told the kids what he does for a living and requested that they play away from the house. That is what they do, as much as possible.
Personally I couldnt do a might job, beacuse of the noise!! Fair play to you! And on behalf of all the disturbances. SORRY!!!!!!

If you only knew the half of it.!!!!!!! There is an eviction going on at the moment as we have an alcoholic heroin addict neighbour who has taken to having "relations" up againist the bannister in the hallway with the front door open and the lights on. That is when she is not being carted off in a police car!!!!! OH "everybody needs good neighbours....":whistling:

I had relations with my bannister once, never again! I should have sanded it first.
