I have my eye brows waxed often, cost £6 where I am and I usually tip them after too, Just a habit from being in a hairdressers, I kind of thought you do in a beauty salon too.

But Im just wondering whether I am the only one. Need to get them done today and just have so much to pay for this weekend not sure if to keep the tip to go towards paying for the rest of this weekends stuff! :)

No I don't tip, its only takes like 5 mins for them to do it so I don't bother.

all the more reason not to tip if its an easy job!

Thanks all, I won't feel that bad walking out just giving them the £6 then.
I was brought up to tip the hairdressers, taxi's, at a resturant so i naturally tipped in the beauty salon. But I just think I don't get tipped in my job when I deal with the public daily!

i get mine threaded now, and leave £1 tip much better finish, after last time the silly cow who did used to waxed them **** it up big time and i had to fix it with eyebrow pencil!!!!

Hairdresser is my mates mum so i get massive discount anyway :)

My SIL does the Threading, but I just don't get it, Maybe I should look into it as I have heard a few people say it lasts longer and looks better.

I usually always tip a hairdresser or beautcian.
The only thing that would stop me for not tipping would be if the didn't chat away etc.

I know i think its crazy how we think its the ' Norm ' to tip hairdressers / barbers etc ( and i do it ! ) but why ? ......for a start they arent cheap , it cost me £8 to have my sons hair cut a few weeks back ( he is 6 ) and will need doing again this week !.....never really thought about until now , but i agree they are doing a job they are paid for , do we tip a supermarket chechout person for scanning our goods ..........no , do we tip the cashier at Argos when we buy something ?.............no !, lol its bizarre and something i have always done in resteraunts , salons and with taxis , .......i am now wondering WHY .....X)
