I'll start you off Ducko!

I got a phone from mobileshop.com about 9 months ago, and I have been really pleased indeed. I went through www.quidco.com which tracked £25, which I have since received and spent!

When I got the phone, I received an A4 sheet which contained the 4 cashback vouchers to be redeemed over the course of the year, so these needed to be kept safe.

Everything has gone great. I send off my vouchers with a copy of the relevant airtime bill by special delivery, and usually receive an email within a few days to say they have received it. They also email just before they pay the money into my bank account. Very pleased with these guys, and they will be getting my business again.

Thanks Emma. ;) Just what we're looking for. Reputation on its way.

Duckmagic,

Like Emma, I’m also impressed with their service, I think they are the only company who credit’s the cashback to your account saving us a trip to the bank!
I don’t understand why the CPW group don’t credit your account, this would save them extra paperwork/postage.

Mobileshop have confirmed the cash back within 2 days on all my 3 claims but they take a long time to pay out, only just received my first claim, however they do advise on the email the date they will pay you by.

Ducky

I also used Mobileshop in May last year.

My cashback scheme was 2 payments each for half of the rental charges, to be claimed at 6 & 12 months.

I agree with hotuk & they acknowledge receipt of the voucher by email within 2 days & send payment 45 days later. (Sent vouchers by recorded delivery as they recommend)

I received the first payment back in Feb 06 by cheque & am currently waiting for the final payment which is due 1st Aug. (Wasn't given the option of payment direct into my bank)

Overall happy with their service albeit a little slow in receiving payment but still "better late than never"! - lol

This advice is no longer sound; Do not use Mobileshop. I have nothing positive to say about them any longer, but leave this information here as a record of how my customer loyalty and trust has been eroded.

I've used mobileshop for 2 contracts now, and am on my third. Delivery speed was about 3 or 4 days each time, and the items and contract I received were as described on the website.

The earlier system of clipping vouchers and sending in photocopies of bills has been replaced with a requirement that you write your reference number on the photocopy before sending it off. It's still quite a simple process though.

I've had no trouble getting through to a mobileshop customer service rep. on the phone and email enquires usually take a day before you receive a reply.

Cashback was always paid, with no quibbles, and with no prodding required. As rocky1man noted, the cashback might seem slow, as they have a condition stating that you will be paid 45 days after the expiry date of your voucher, but it's always come through.

Mobileshop have always sent me a text or email confirmation, letting me know that my claim has been received; saves you checking the Royal Mail website.

Like all these cashback claims though, I would still suggest you use Special Delivery.

Highly NOT recommended.

PS: if you want to cancel the insurance that comes with the phone, call 01252788300 and press the button for 'making a claim'. you will get to speak to an agent who will be able to cancel the contract for you. if you follow the instructions given by the recorded voice, you will be instructed to fax or send in a written letter, which is not what the terms of contract state: that you may cancel by phone.

Hi,

I've used this company for a number of years and have found their service excellent. You only need to look on their website to find out how good they are - click on the link: http://www.mobileshop.com/customerse...k/comments.php

Some of their recent offers aren't as competitive as some other retailers but if you don't want any hassle when making a cashback claim I would definately recommend Mobileshop. They have also featured on BBC News 24 and are based in Doncaster.

I have ordered 4 phones from mobileshop until now and have never had problems with cashback. An email is sent as soon as claim is received (always ensure to send by recorded delivery) and payment is paid straight to bank account on stated date (generally 45 days after). Although, now they have stopped issuing vouchers which means you need to remember the dates.

What more could anyone ask for? Simply superb.

1) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?
Yes, I ordered one phone in September 2005 and got it Next Day
I ordered another one on 20th December and also got it Next Day

2) Did you have any problems with the order itself?
Only when ordering the 2nd phone in December.
I had actually ordered 2 phones on O2 Contracts (already having the 1st phone from September on an O2 contract as well), but apparently O2 informed MobileShop I couldn't have more than 2 Monthly Contracts at the time.
MobileShop phoned me that day and informed me of the problem and asked me which of the 2 orders I'd like to proceed with and which to cancel.
I even got the QuidCo cashback from that order!

3) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
I have received Cashback from both the contracts now with no problems so far.

4) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
- Their website is easy to use, the checkout process simple and information seems to be readily available.
- As stated above they were helpful enough to call very quickly to let me know about a problem with one of my orders and I received it before Christmas in time for the phone to be charged and packed as a Christmas gift.

5) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
Although I received a TXT about this before Christmas I wasn't able to take action on it, but MobileShop offered an Online method of submitting cashback claims, but only for a brief period. It would be better if this method was available all the time to everyone.

6) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
Yes, I would recommend them and I will use them again when my current O2 contract is up in a month or two.

Hi,

Quidco cashback is £50 for a contract on the '3' network.

Pleasant surprise today!

My second & final cashback payment was paid direct into my bank account so saving me a trip to pay in a cheque - nice one!
#12
Bought a v220 last year, quick delivery, 2 cashbacks, £150 at 6 months and just received the second £150 straight to the bank account. Cashback takes a bit of time,2 months , sent vouchers recorded delivery and they email you when they receive them. would recommend them.
#13
Hi,

I have nothing but praise for mobileshop.com.
I bought an 02 contract in May 2005 with 12 months cashback of £300.
I have just recieved the 2nd installment of this last week direct to my bank and so the whole process has been painless and straight forward.

After sending my 6th and 12th bill in to them I got an email saying they'd received my bill and would be paying on a certain date...and they did!

What more can I say! The only possible gripe is that they do take about 6 weeks or so to get round to paying, but once you know you are going to get paid, then you can relax.

I love these cashback deals and tell all my friends...but up to now no one has taken one out because I don't think they really believe you do get your money back. To be honest this was a fear I had before trying it, but now I've go ALL my money back from my first contract, I'm happy as Larry!

So, mobileshop.com was easy and straight forward and I'd recommend them without hesitation!

Have Mobileshop stopped issuing the vouchers A, B, C and D for cashback cliams?

I have recently bought another contract phone and there was no vouchers. only advising to send 5th, 7th, 9th and 12 bills.

Thanks

Email from Mobileshop.....

1) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?
Yes

2) Did you have any problems with the order itself?
Only self inflicted! After ordering a phone, I realised it didn't have a facility I wanted due to misleading advertising (by the manufacturer, not mobileshop). I phoned them and they changed the order immediately and without fuss.

3) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
No problems whatsoever.

4) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
Good communication regarding receipt of cb claim.
They accept copies of your bills from the air-time supplier's website.

5) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
Often not as competitive as some of the companies that are less reliable for cashback- yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice! Often have good 12 month free contracts but on the less desirable phones. Suggestion - perhaps an occasional special offer on a single 'better' phone - economies of scale etc.

6) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
WITHOUT DOUBT!

Been using them for 18 months now. Never had a single problem. Cashback on time everytime. I'm on my sixth phone with them.

Got a phone call yesterday from Mobileshop. I have won £100 in the cash back prize draw for August:thumbsup:

Just noticed that mobileshop.com now accept cashback claims via fax. They say they'll send same day confirmation of receipt, plus you'll also have the fax transmittal confirmation sheet. Details are:

Fax Number: 09069592033
Fax charged at 75p per mintue please ask the bill payer for permission.

Much cheaper than sending via recorded delivery (and you can probably use the fax at work ;-) )

1) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?
Yes next day, very fast.

2) Did you have any problems with the order itself?
None.

3) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
Slightly slow on a couple of transactions, loved the fact it was bacs and not cheques.

4) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
Sooner cashback sites auto track your network account to auto give cashback the better...

5) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
See above.

6) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
Yes.

1) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?

None.

3) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
Only had 1st bill from O2 so cannot comment.

4) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
Some problems with the filtering of handset features such as wi-fi etc.

5) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
As per point 4 really.

6) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
Yes.

Quidco
Now one additional query I have is that I purchased through Quidco but my transaction wasn't tracked. I was thinking of putting in a new earnings enquiry but my initial invoice from mobileshop was for £0 due to the package purchased (12mth O2 contract, 400m & 100texts with a free handset). Any thought's on what I can do (if anything) to get quidco cashback?
1 Like #24
The Quidco cashback, or lack of it, seems to be a recurring theme. I took out a second contract with mobileshop (after my first had expired) and mine too wasn't tracked. I've completed the Quidco enquiry form, but I seem to recall they can take up to 90 days to investigate it. Another problem with Quidco enquiries is that you get no feedback whatsoever after completing the enquiry form, in my experience.
#25
Quidco do an amazing job considering they only get a piddly £5/year per person, it's worth being patient imho.

Thanks to Tyke's advice, rep added  , I did create a Quidco Enquiry and to my amazement my earnings now show £25 for the MobileShop transaction :) . I made sure that the enquiry had all of the details of the order and was to the value of my full 12 months contract (£210). I included my MobileShop account number and the order number for the transaction. No message from Quidco but as the earnigns now show correctly, I'm a happy bunny.

See post below.

Notfub,

My mobileshop earnings are still not showing up, when did you create your missing transaction enquiry?
Also, have you had the full Quidco payment?

My E2save query submitted in March 06 is also still showing as ‘sent to merchant’

Thanks
#28
hotuk,
I created the enquiry on 17th Oct and checked with Quidco again on 19th (just before my post above really). Was amazed to see the £25 showing and expected month of payment as January 2007.

However, I've just gone back to check again and clicked on the "Enquiries" TAB under "My Earnings" and the status is showing as "being processed". Hmmmm

Being Processed is.....
This means we are sorting through the enquiries and yours is due to be reviewed. At this point we may need to get in touch with you if there is a clarification to be made or if there are more details we need from you before sending it on to the merchant. If your enquiry is for a merchant that reports back very slowly we may leave your enquiry at the 'being processed' stage and review it again when appropriate, keeping in mind the merchant's usual reporting pattern.

I've obviously got the wrong end of the stick so apologies for uncorking the champaigne a little early in my initial post

If things change, which may take a while, I'll update this thread.

even though it has a very long waiting period, i was happy with them until recently. it's a combination of events due to the recent change of T&C.

i received 2/4 redemption payments. currently waiting for the 3rd.

they have recently change the redemption payment from 45 to 60days after the voucher expires, which i believe shloudn't apply to old customers who agreed to the old T&C at signup anyway, but they did! - POINT 1.

i found out this change and was silently applied to me only when the 3rd redemption payment didn't turn up when it should have been (45days after the voucher expires). so i phoned up and requested an explanation, and was told about the change. i wasn't notified before, comment: bad customer relations. - POINT 2.

was advised to wait for further 15days. so then was expecting this fund to turn up. again it didn't. phoned up for an explanation, was told, on the 60th day the fund will be sent to a 'sorting bank' (i don't know what that is, if someone can explain, please do.), will take another 3-4working days to put a bank request, will take further 3-4working days to arrive to your bank. so i said, "so it's not "60days after the voucher expires" then. its more like "70days after the voucher expires".' she didn't responded directly, but stating it's in process and should arrive on [date]. - POINT 3.

absolutely furious.

as the recent advert campaign of a well known organisation says, 'late is as good as never'.

I too think Mobileshop have started to lapse.

Everyone praising they are the ‘cashback kings’ has got to their heads!

My payment due early Oct was not paid into my account so I had to chase them, got a reply saying due to the network (02) changing their terms and conditions and they had not yet received their commission, they had delayed payment and said the money would be in my account last week – Still not been paid.
That was my 3rd claim.

I sent my 4th and as they normally send an email within 2 days that did not happen, I got an email 3 weeks later confirming they have received my voucher. Then trying to avoid paying the cashback offered me a DVD player.

Does anyone know how much the portable dvd is worth anyway? The value of the cashback I’m owed is £90.

Thanks

This is the email….

Just a quick report that I recently received my 'Recommend a Friend' bonus, paid straight into my bank account on time and with no prompting.

Mobileshop these days seem keen to sell you alternatives to your cashback. Portable DVD players, Argos vouchers (which do give you a little bit more in terms of value; I was offered £110 in vouchers for a £105 cashback claim), etc.

Of course, you are under no obligation to take them up on their offers.

Be aware too that while they are still reliable as to paying cashback, the process takes longer than detailed on their website. Based on the recent few claims my partner and I made, I would estimate that the process takes about 80 days from their receipt of your mobile phone statement.

They have also had very few deals of worth recently. Most of their cashbacks now involve 18 month contracts.

I had no problems with mobileshop.com until it came to my cashback.
I went through freeivers to buy the phone and got my £25 no problem. The phone arrived next day special delivery as promised.
My first cashback I sent the wrong bill in so my fault, but then 2 days later they put up new terms and conditions telling you exactly which bill to send it.
Applied for my 2nd cashback end of November and got confirmaion it had been recieved.
Emailed them a few days ago to ask them about the payment as still not recieved and it says allow 60 days.
Got an email back within 24 hours saying the BACS system for the payment run I was on had failed and I could either have an Argos gift card with a little extra added to within 24 hours or a cheque.

Will wait now to see how long before cheque arrives.

I have a question, I'm looking at this deal: http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-phones/o2/contract-mobile-phones/sony-ericsson-p990i.php/PNEWO2P9900006

Get 12 months Half Price line rental when you connect to this deal. Line Rental Only £15.00 for 12 months then £30.00 thereafter. This can be redeemed as Cash Back to your bank account in 6 equal stages. £30.00 at months 6, 10, 14, 16, 17 and 18. Full claim details are included when you receive your order.

I'm looking at month 18 in particular. How would it work out? Once I receive the final invoice after the contract has finished, only then can I receive the cashback?

Will changing the tarrifs after the initial 12 months void the 12 months half price offer?

Me too. 86 days since the claim was processed and nothing paid. Anyone know how we would stand with cancelling the contract as they have not met their T & C's? Is the contract with them or the phone provider? This is my first cash back and, if they aren't going to pay out the contract isn't worth keeping.
