Not much to say about it apart from excellent cashback service, customer service and their clearance section where i purchased an ex-display 7600(yuk i know, hell i was desperate...and a student) and the phone was in good order for an ex-display, no scratches etc. I would recommend, but i have since haggled with my network for a great deal and decided against a cashback contract for the next 12 months.

Edit: - Whoops forgot about the colour coding, didnt even bother reading your post fully, too long for me :-P

I bought a clearance V3 from them on Orange, 1000 off peak FREE via cashback. Phone was in 'as new' condition and I sold it on ebay for £139. Ain't used the free minutes, no need as we have 4 other mobile contracts.
Cashback is no problem and their T&C's are very easy to understand.

I've used them on the high street before mobiles became big on the 'net' and the staff knew their stuff. More than the staff in the Link.

i bought a clearence 8800, and have bought several cashback deals from them in the past all very good, most them were reconditioned and all in excellent to very good condition. i've been buying from them long before i have joined up to quidco, the only thing they could improve on is the delivery... i can't stand citylink!

Purchased a 18month contract (with t-mobile) for £100 T610 with freeline rental via chequeback (managed to get a cheque for 6months text msg as t-mobile didnt have this with deal so final cost of whole deal is £60). Ive received my 6th and 12th chequeback in time with no delays (all i had to do is send my 6th bill to redemption address and expect cheque in 28 days). 12th bill in fact i faxed it instead and still received my cheque, pretty amazing. So on my last month so will see how it finally goes with 3rd cheque. Pretty good and swift service with no faults. Would recommend:)

This is my 3rd year buying a mobile with Carphone Warehouse website, the deal that I am on this year is via cashback (again), my 'deal' is on 3, I get a Nokia 6680, 250 texts, 400 anytime xnetwork minutes, 25 MSMS, 25 video minutes and £5.00 to spend on stuff like music video's, games etc.
This all costs me only £2.99 per month for 12 months (I am on a 12 month contract) I sent my first bill after 4 months, love the way you get a text message to say that they have recieved your bill and your cheque will be with you within 30 days, and yeah, no problem the cheque arrives - so in reality I am paying £35.00 per month but then I get (nearly all of) it back - I honestly can't fault them, with this phone I had a problem with it after the 3rd day (it appears that it had not been flashed?), so I rang up customer services (and don't ring the 0870 numbers use the freephone 0800 424800!), they made a note of the 'fault' and told me to return it to any CPW branch with the paper work that accompanies the phone and they would exchange it there and then.
I paid a visit to my local branch (Broughton, Chester) who typed in my details into their computer and all the info that had been put on by customer services was there, I didnt have to go through the fault again - the only snag was that they didnt have a 6680 in stock - BUT they arranged for me to have a new one delivered to me via courier the next day - and yes, it arrived and its been fine ever since!
Very, very good customer service, no problems with cashback - the cheap offers always look too good to be true, but they have always worked for me, I'm looking forward to getting my next deal in January!
Oh I forgot, if you are like me and you can look after your phone you can flog it on eBay at the end of the contact - I always have and always made a bomb  !

1) Was it a Pay As You Go phone, accessory or a contract phone?
Contract phone

2) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?
2 days, acceptable.

3) Did you have any problems with the order itself?
No.

4) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
They screwed up the original cashback deal of 12months @ £1.99/month but their new deal in e-mail indicated more, they eventually rectified this after several calls which after quidco referral worked out at over £30 profit instead of the original £24 term cost, but most importantly, they sorted out 90% the cashback within 28days+ 4months of the contract, faster than anyone else has ever done, seems they prefered to do most of the cashback on the 4month one instead of dealing with more correspondance.

5) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
They are quite cheeky, advertising 1 deal, but providing another once ordered, they require chasing up quite a bit but I liked how quickly the cashback was sorted.

6) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
Clarity of their website and systems, half decent customer services once you know who to talk to.

7) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
If they bring back decent deals again maybe, they arn't as good as they were in 2004 + 2005.

I bought a contract phone on the High Street. Had no problems with the cashback yet. The staff wasn't helpful at the store as he didn't know much stuff.
Would recommend them.

Odd - I've had 2 phones through CPW and had problems with both. I've found their Customer Service completely lacking. My first issue was when i got a Nokia 6310i in one of their stores. I got it home, switched it on, and the screen was set wonky within the handset. I took it back, only to be told it was not a fault, it was cosmetic and I had no right to return it. They said Orange would laugh at them if they authorised the return. I spoke to Orange who actually authorised the return yet still the store wouldn't take it back. Other branches said they should have, as did Head Office - until the branch spoke to them that is, then they turned-tail and defended the branch. I had a phone with a wonky screen for a year. Nice. This year I wanted a new contract, but to keep my Orange PAYG number. No problem, Orange told me - order the phone, and get CPW to send a connection request stipulating I wanted to port my PAYG number. The first phone came pre-registered - so that went straight back. They organised another one for me, to be sent with a 'temporary number'...I received it, spent hours on the phone with CPW and Orange, then CPW sent an ordinary connection request and it got connected with a new number. So that one went back. Only at this stage did someone from CPW tell me it wasn't possible to port my PAYG number without considering it an upgrade - which meant I wouldn't have got any line rental deals on my new contract. I know have a phone with a new number. Orange were never anything less than helpful. I spoke to 5 different CPW staff on the phone and 2 in a store who told me porting was possible. After all those dimwits telling me the wrong thing, I now have a new phone and a new number. I have never been so glad as when Carphone Warehouse called me for a check on how I was enjoying my phone - a call concluded with the words "This is the last you'll hear from the Carphone Warehouse..." Well, thank flip for that!
#15
I've only now noticed that CPW have changed their address for claiming - after having sent claims to their old address! Just as well I'm still on time because of their 60 limit.

There's another problem - my 4th bill does not exist - it jumped from Invoice Number 3 in August to Invoice Number 5 in September! I've just noticed this and am expecting an argument with CPW!
#16
If the dates follow on from each other then they shouldn't have anything to argue about.
#17
how does the o2 automatic cashback work? anyone still have the link?
suspended#18
I have added this to another thread but as this is CPWs thread i'll add it to here as well.
My brother had 2 contracts with them on cashback both taken out the same time, date etc.1st cashback no problem. The 2nd cashback he sent off the same time again like the 1st.He got cashback for one of them but the other was refused.Excuse? To early:? :? :-(

1) Was it a Pay As You Go phone, accessory or a contract phone?
Contract
2) Were you were happy with the delivery speed?
No. Ordered on Tuesday, delivered on Friday after a number of phone calls.
3) Did you have any problems with the order itself?
A few. It took them 10 days to connect the phone. This was after calling them everyday for 3-4 days and sending some nastly e-mails.
4) Did you receive cashback with little or no problems, or did you have to push them for cashback or even take legal action?
Too early for that. In the past, I've had no issues with CPW cashback.
5) Please comment on other aspects which you thought were good/bad.
Customer service is poor.
6) Is there anything the company needs to improve on?
Customer service.
7) Would you recommend them or use them again personally?
I would say yes, given that I've had no issues in the past. I have bought about 7-8 contract phones in the past few years. I didn't have any issues with them.

Ordered a LG S5200 which was featured here from CPW on Feb 20th via Quidco.

I was very surprised to see it still unprocessed 3 days later. Called them to find out why the delay only to be told they are demanding a £75 payment which they have not emailed or told me about and they are holding the order until I pay up !!

I thought about it, then called them back and agreed as they said the £75 was refunded after 6 months. After they took my money they then gave me a new order number !!

When I informed them I wanted the order number to stay unchanged to get my Quidco money they got shirty and gave me a "take it or leave it".

After 4 cock-ups on their side (holding up the order, demanding a £75 payment, failure to email me about this, and then changing the order number) I feel I've had a close escape from a bunch of cowboys.

Be warned - steer clear of CPW.:-(

have had no problems with c/w - just got LG P7200 on contract from deal posted couple weeks ago no probs at all - also have another 12mth contract nearly fininshed already claimed 3 cash back chqs all received no hassle, only thing i would say was they had changed their c/b add and if i hadnt have read it on hotdeals may have caused prob/delay.

I have had a a couple of problems with them myself, but would still recommend them providing you check their website. On my previous contract, I missed my 2nd redemtion due to an address change. Also, its worth remembering that when you setup online billing, you get no notice of it being your redemption month.

I am midway through my 2nd contract with them and I notice that they have changed the address again :(

Even though its confusing at times, its still a better deal than anything else out there. If you think of the cash back as a bonus (similar to quidco) then you wont go far wrong.

I just got a text saying received - so, improved service thus far.

I recently ordered another phone. It came on the following day. However, I decided to return it under their 7-day satisfaction guarantee. I took it to a local store. They said I couldn’t return on-line order to a store. When I called on-line sales, they said I could. So took it back to the same store and this time they accepted it.
Yesterday, I received a bill for 1-week line rental. When I asked why, I was told I had to pay line rental for 1 week since I had the phone for a week. I said that’s absurd and it was against the distance selling regulations. After speaking to someone else, the CSR said she would cancel the invoice.
#25
Has anyone got feedback for the phone spot? I know they are part of CPW so I'm guessing feedback would be as it is for CPW.
#26
I don't think the Phone Spot have been around long enough for anyone to have claimed any cashback yet.

My mother has a cashback deal with CPW and I want to report how good it has been.
She sent the initial claim to the wrong address due I think to their having changed it. They sent the claim back to her as she had also sent the wrong document. Well she didn’t get around to sending the correct bill and I didn’t realise until the second cashback was due in May. So last month I sent back for her the second claim on time and a bit later I also sent the first claim with an accompanying letter. My mother phoned today saying that she had received two cheques covering both cashbacks. That’s a good service considering the first claim was over 3 months late being sent in.

I also have a CPW cashback and have also been impressed. I’ve received a text confirming receipt of the claim about a week after sending it and then about a week later a second text confirming that the claim has been successful. The cheque then arrives about a month after I’ve sent the claim. A very nice service; a shame they don’t have more killer deals. I did manage to get an LG U880 for 12 months free with cashback on 3 with 400 minutes per month. I’m very pleased with the deal and service. I’ve had bad experiences with CPW’s subsidiaries though but the main firm has impressed me.

I sent a letter to cancel my contract in early July - they contacted me to offer me a new cashback contract. I said no because I already have another 3 on the go  Anyway, yesterday I received another call and they're going to pay £300 credit to my account (as line rental up front for a year) and give me 50 free minutes and 100 free texts each month for a year. I know I don't really need this sim card but how could I resist!! My mum's deal is coming to an end soon and she hardly uses her phone so this will do her nicely. I'll just need to make a note (or several notes) in my diary to cancel the contract next year.

Just a quickie - I'm about to send the second cashback claim to the Carphone Warehouse and the first claim went smoothly.

Sticking to the t&c's and keeping a diary or similar records is essential to make the most from these offers. The only issue I had was the call centre pestering me to take out insurance and similar offers, but they stopped that after I made it plain I just wasn't interested.

Can anyone help me with this question - is it possible to port my number on a PAYG phone on 02 to a cashback contract with the same company? I use my PAYG for business, but would prefer to switch it to contract. Trouble is the hassle of doing that each year for each new contract. Or perhaps I can just set the PAYG to forward calls to my contract phone? Is this possible? I've never done this before and I'm trying to avoid carrying 2 mobile phones around!

Got a contract phone for my son and CPW stated that they would apply a spend restriction.

Initially they did not do this and complaining through customer services was a nightmare.

Finally cancelled the contract and that wasn't that easy too.

Will never use them again.

Welcome to HUKD jpyhyk :)

Spend restriction is quite normal for new members and they'll increase the allowance after few months.

Hi, can I ask some advice please.

I have used OneStopPhoneShop cashback before (part of CPW) but in the past I have to supply "the latest bill after 4 months".

Now with this contract I have to supply an "original bill" and it says showing I have been "connected for 4 months".

I took out the contract on 10th July so 10th November is 4 months.

The bill I currently have is bill number 4 dated 21st October, it does not strictly show I have been connected for 4 months it only shows i have been connected for three months and am being billed advance rental for November.

Should I post this current bill or wait until bill number 5 arrived (but this wont arrive until my 30 days is nearly up so I will be cutting it fine.

Also, I have read the T&C's over and over and I cant see anyware it giving a time frame eg claim within 30 days of your fourth month there is simply no time restriction on claiming?

Many thanks for any help.

Hi, can I ask some advice please.

Normally
with CPW group you have to send the first bill that arrives after you've been connected for 120 days ie 7 November in your case. You then normally have 30 days from the date of the bill for them to receive your claim. Of course, your t's and c's could be different.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong !!!

I have just rung them and they have said they haev nto recieved my bill so im gonna have to print it off and send it again

My first cashback mobile phone contract and it mostly went smoothly.

£330 cashback from CPW and £30 Quidco for a £360 contract. Very pleased.

Was a problem at the start of my contract, CPW had the phone listed under someone else's name (Virgin said CPW had got some phones mixed up). Once that was sorted there was no problem. The cashback cheques arrived fine without any problems and you have 60 days to send them in.

Best feature is you get a text from them to confirm receipt of the chequeback claim form so you don't have to worry too much about sending the form special delivery. If no text message received after about 2 weeks just send a duplicate form.

A good experience and would do it again if I was a regular mobile phone user.

Thanks to Duckmagic for the great info about chequeback schemes

Thanks for that,

That was what I was thinking, my 4 months came up on 10th November, the next bill after that will be dayed 21st November (bill No 5) but wont arrive until the end of November leaving me just 10 days to get it in. As I thought a bit tight.
