Anyone have any suggestions what my next steps I could take regarding the below issue?
Bought a Sat Dish from an ebayer, it arrived damaged and was told to send back the item, within hours of me confirming it being sent back seller said dont I will send you a replacement, but I stressed to late you asked for me to send this back which I have done, 3 weeks went by and they mentioned never recevied and I would need to make a claim through royal mail which I did, provided receipt, ebay conformation page of item, & paypal payment copy, now 3 days before xmas royal mail sent me a letter saying 10 days from the date of letter that they require proof of manufacturing cost or proof of how much produce, anyone have any clues as to where I could get this info, I feel I have a right fight in my hands as the 10 days have well passed now due to the back log with mail due to the weather.i reported this issue to ebay back in late Oct-Nov when i bought the item and all the seller has said everytime "not received", can I take this up with paypal or do I need to stick with chasing royal mail? out of buying costs and delivery..please help!!

First of all why didn't you send it back courier or with some sort of proof of postage and delivery? (Recorded, Special)?
#2
regardless of 'why people bother' the op has a question, any suggestions?

you're issue is with royal mail, but negative feedback for a less than helpful ebay seller would be appropriate... also, royal mail do try to squirm out of all compensation claims and make it awkward and time consuming, keep going with royal mail....
.... next time, use a trackable form to return items....

get intouch with paypal mate open a case they will give you the money back if seller doesnt get intouch with them
#5
seems to me you did not recieve satisfactory item so should put in a claim to paypal.

Do you have any proof that the seller received the returned item?

Dod you take out adequate insurance with royal mail?

If the answer is no,then you have virtually no chance of recovering any costs.

If yes, then open a paypal SNAD dispute, escalate to a claim and provide the information to paypal.

It's doubtful you can open a paypal case now due to the time restraints' Also if you could you could not prove you delivered it since there is no tracking so you would probably lose anyway. Best way now is to do a cliam via the RM by sending them the original paypal invoice for cost purposes of the item. How much was it and what service did you use. If you could open a claim they would only get you to return the item any which of course you cannot do.

From the royal mail you should receive the cost of the item and your return postage costs but you will probably lose out on the original shipping cost though unless it was free P+P. Dependant of course that the item is not on the restricted list and the right postal service was used to get the full compensation and most importanatly you have proof of posting. If not then you are looking at 6 1st class stamps.

Either the parcel is back logged, due to bad weather etc, or truly lost your case at the moment is with Royal Mail, unless you have proof that the seller has received the delivery. I would explain to royal mail that you are the BUYER returning an item bought from an ebay seller therefore manufacturing costs etc are not applicable. The value of the returned item is the cost you paid inc the delivery fees.

Send them a copy of your paypal receipt and the ebay listing explaining to them that you are returning an item, not selling one, which is valued at the total cost you paid (delivery and item cost) I would also make sure that you claim for the costs incurred with the return as that part of the service hasn't been performed..

That's what I did with a parcel I returned that went missing.
Royal Mail paid out once I forwarded them a copy of my ebay purchase invoice.

Thanks...I photocopied R/M Receipt/Ebay buying conformation and Paypal payment along with original claim to royalmail so I dont see why they aren't excepting everything I have supplied, the reason I didnt pay more for Special delivery is cant recall..all I can think on is that it was working out twice the price of the item, and normal delivery you are still covered by insurance anyway, probably wont do any harm on trying a claim with paypal and supply them with all the communication from seller,
I really dont think the parcel is held up due to weather as it was before the snow set in.

but you will get the item cost and the postage back from royal mail, so you will have your money back twice, and postage paid once.
