There are conflicting ways in which these decisions are being viewed," he said.

"I watched the game between Leyton Orient and Charlton on Monday and there was an elbow on the Charlton player three times as he was running with the ball.

"But nothing has happened with that.

"There is a lot of confusion there, although we accept that for tomorrow, Rio is banned."

Nope there's no confusion Fergie, Rio get's stupid money to play a game that's viewed by million's and that hit's the public eye more and not to mention he's an international player. The other guy's got a smaller public view get over it. I agree they should be punished the same, but don't sit there like Rio's some kind of saint.

made me laugh when he 'refused' to be interviewed by Sky as he claimed they overreacted at the claims of Rio elbowing someone. After they beat City he couldnt wait to be interviewd.
Baconface.

Again, the more I look at that the more I think there was intent. Reminds me a bit of Roy Keane and Vinnie Jones.

I'm just suprised he hasn't yet referred to Anderson as 'that black fella'

It's comments like these that must be a real laughing point at Old Trafford between the clubs supporters. (I can't believe United fans would actually seriously argue in support of his actual comments tbh.)

It is a shame that only 2 clubs seem to suffer with mangers with senile dimentia, poor eyesight and the inability to track time properly.

I won't disagree that Rio should be banned - I will however argue that Adam's first post is beyond crazy.

The football regulations are not based on how big a public figure you are - what an utterly stupid statement to make.

Rio did wrong, so did the guy in the other match. I think there was intent from Rio - I'm frustrated because hes now banned when we need him back, but I think SAF has a point - apply the same rule to all.

is totally and utterly irrelevant, and your comment after doesn't make up for the fact you clearly believe in the reasoning you gave.

Repeating yourself there Vibe must be a SAF supporter thing:w00t:

I still have to disagree with you statement.

Public image has nothing to do with the premiership at all:?

It has nothing to do with the RULES of the premier league. There should be no difference at all between, for example, Wayne Rooney and Norwich striker Grant Holt.

Didn't mention rules :? And I don't disagree with you on the difference.

Adam, vibes comment was a simple comment really, fifa have a set of rules and regardless of how much you are in the public eye, they should all be enforced in the same manner..

what i love is the fact you felt the need to come on here and rant about the whole situation...

Step away from that keyboard, turn around, re-focus your eyes, YES ! there IS a world out there!!

thats my point - so why mention it? I assume you don't actually disagree with SAF then? You just hate him/United etc?

He says both Ferdinand and the other low-key guy should be punished equally. You agree?

Remind me again what the reason he appealed for was?

Nope don't dislike Man united as an entity thought rivalry permits, just rubbish SAF smarmy pap statements, seeming to evade accepting the punishment even though he says he has.

I already agreed in the beginning, but it's where you draw the line, that's why you have boards, and I generally think they come down harder due to him being an international capped player at the highest level, that's my opinnion you don't have to agree with that.:)

The truth? So he could play against City.

Thats not the argument I'm taking issue with, or the suspension.

If Ferdinand elbows someone in the face, send him off, or if its not seen deal with it later.
If XYZ lower league player elbows someone in the face, send him off, or if its not seen deal with it later.

As far as I can see, Adam seems to be agreeing with Ferguson, but is ranting anyway?

Anything else is pretty pointless isn't it? The ban is 4 games, and won't be changed.

Not strictly true, as they're now appealing against the extra match ban, which in turn could lead to another one match ban (so 5 in total).

Rules are rules, if an appeal is thrown out it adds one more match to the ban..... so why then appeal against the appeal being thrown out

The bit about him accepting and then passing the buck with the statement what about him playground pap. All managers do it, look at Rafa he avoids questions better then most politicians.

So Ferguson basically abused the rules to suit and now crying because the frivilous challenge has gone against him. Seriously, did you not expect it to go any other way than it did? (Actually, I expected it to be a further extra game than it was!)

I know you are arguing that "its only because its Man Utd", in truth, I wished it were that ('cos i think it would be deserved after the lets offs Fergies had in the past for ranting - and I'd laugh hard), but the fact remains, this banning is fair and the correct decision for the offence committed.

I agree?!

What I'm saying is, Ferguson is right to point out that the other guy should be banned, and I'm saying Andy shouldn't have brought us public status.

Rio was wrong to do what he did, He deserves to be banned, Although on the same note many other players do the same and nothings done about it, They've got to be consistent.

Craig Bellendemy's always lashing out yet he's lucky to get a yellow.

Yeah, what with Ferdinand missing chunks of the season, not having a decent keeper and Gerrard being unfit/horribly out of form, things are already looking great for the World Cup :-(

theyre thinking of appealing this ban as well now.......lol

as for consistency.......its always been this way, weve had suspensions for it and others have got away with it

its football!! stop crying ffs
