wonderful news for Rangers and should have happened under plg. Hopefully now murray will back the manager and rid the club of the festering drink culture thats poisoned the team since the days of mccleish.

Hopefully boyd and mcculloch will be next to be shown the door. For once well done walter smith.

I think the club is in a mess - Ferguson, MC Greggor , Boyd these players play week in week out and we have some many players that are dead wood collecting a wage an not contributing - they should be the ones out the door walter has made sone silly signings since his return beasley , Edu, velicka - big money spent on them playing no part

I won't be shedding a tear for Ferguson... he seems to think that he's the only player in rangers.. never passes the ball... plus he's a big ned anyway lol

buncha neds.

give McManus the scots captaincy

Neil Alexander is a class keeper - always rated him highly when he was at Cardiff, great shot stopper. As said in a previous post, you won't miss McCulloch, absolute garbage. Be surprised if anyone comes in for him though as I imagine he's on a decent salary.

Can't believe the unprofessionalism of some players, Amir Zaki at Wigan appears to be taking the biscuit too.

alexander was great in the run in last season.

as for mcculloch we apparently knocked back a £1million bid from stoke in the summer for him which I just find baffling for 2 reasons. firstly that with our lack of cash any amount was knocked back and 2nd have stoke actually seen him play.

Stoke have a pretty iffy transfer policy at the best of times - over £16m spent this season in transfer fees and the most expensive signing has already been shipped out on loan :whistling:

Amazed Rangers didn't snap Stoke's hands off for McCulloch considering they have let better players go to Championship clubs for far less.

I have to applaud Walter Smith for taking this stance considering he didnt really have to cos it happened on Scotland duty and not Rangers.

End of the day though he was the team captain of his club and country and should have been an ambassador and what he done was just not acceptable and rather than accepting this and apologising, he gave the fingers to the nation.

The wee ned can GTF. I don't like Rangers but this is a blessing in disguise for them as I feel Ferguson has been holding them back since he came back from Blackburn. On the other hand, I dont care about McGregor. Neil Alexander is a quality goalkeeper and has a better atiitude to the game.

One thing I had to laugh at on Wednesday, I was at the Scotland game and the entire crowd were chanting Craig Gordon's name. Then I came home and saw McGregor giving the fingers on TV. Bet he feels good right about now.

On another note, if I was David Marshall, I'd seriously consider packing international football in, it was a kick in the teeth for him to see McGregor kicked out and then re-instated to the bench.

As for Ferguson, it's unforgiveable for a player to give the fingers the way he and McGregor did, even more so in Ferguson's case as he's captain.

Both players should be binned from the Scotland team for the rest of their careers. We don't need them, we won without them. Given the quality of players that have still to come back from injury, these two jokers won't be missed. Especially McGregor.

Never thought I'd say this (I'm a Celtic fan), but well done Walter Smith.

can't disagree with that mate ferguson won't be missed at gers with the likes of davis and edu as replacements not to mention thomson for next season and at scotland well hartley, robson and maloney were all missing as well so again he won't be missed.

Boyd is a fat and lazy plank!

I dont say that as a Celtic fan but a Scotland fan. Although I know alot of Rangers fan who agrees.

Sulky but doesnt have the ability to back it up

He might be sulky, he might not have the greatest ability in the world, and his work rate could be better. But he scores goals, which is more than can be said for JVoH or Samaras just now.

Here's hoping Kenny Miller does something stupid and unforgiveable in public before the next Scotland match.....

breaking news on talksport that the pair won't be playing for scotland again either.

gotta say,i love ferguson as a player, wish he could of had more success in the english premier,he was unlucky
maybe he'll be back
but lot lot more credit to george burley
seems theres not a massive swell of support behind him
but he took a massive decision, before your biggest game in years
and it has paid off,

scotland are still in the running

and the sfa chief aint fully backing him
the sfa man should be sacked

edit:as Toybhoy says, walter smith is an honourable man,he has scotlands interests in mind

dont think they should get caned too much, but they should be given a kick up the jacksie

Good keeper, but from what I've seen I rate Brian Jensen at Burnley more.
