With this years FIFA there is an online code in the case, its a one time code i assume, so if you buy a preowned copy and code is used you cant play online (i think)

Yeah, I think you'd have to pay EA for another code to play online.

So what about other Xbox live users in my household. Would they each a different code to get online?

I never thought of that. We've got 3 xbox in the house so i hope this online code doesn't catch on.

I would say you would have to buy an online code for each

I think the online code is to stop people who pirate games.

But the majority dont play the game online though?

Instead of a code they should make customers download a patch to play, then that way new or preowned can play online.

Unless they are trying to get at the second hand market

It's probably there in order for them to keep making money from preowned games, as for those with hacked xbox's are already banned from playing through xbox live anyway

Just found the answer from Ea Sports website:

Do I need an unique Online Pass for every user on my console?
No. One Online Pass will give online access to multiple users logged into the console where the Online Pass was first activated (subject to the console manufacturer’s and EA online terms of service).

Also, the user that activated the Online Pass will be allowed to access online features on other consoles (of the same manufacturer) by logging into the same account credentials that they used when they enabled the Online Pass.

Can anyone tell me how much the online pass is from the Xbox 360 marketplace?

Online Pass, the EA Sports initiative that charges those buying secondhand a $10 fee to play games online, came into effect for all of the publisher’s titles with the release of Tiger Woods 11 in June this year.
