Fifa 11, PS3 keeps disconnecting from EA servers....AAAAGGGHHHH

Hi all, have been playing no problem for th last couple of months then BANG, the last 2 nights it just keeps disconnecting from EA servers. When i enter a match my LAG indicator is always 1 bar (RED) where as before it was always 3 bars (GREEN).

My son was on it a few days ago setting up a virtual pro player but i wouldn't imagine that had anything to do with it but you never know when it comes to Fifa and EA Sports.

Any help please?

I'll not be back on-line until tonight so i'll check your responses (hopefully) then.

cheers

Has the PS3 been allowed access on the router (port forwarding and stuff)?

I remember when I had this spontaneous issue with my 360 it turned out the NAT was too strict on the router, don't ask me what that means though.

i'm Scottish and if it's any consolation i think it's a scandal what has happened.........

do you know they asked Sepp Blatter who his favourite Qatar player was?
he replied "Eric Clapton" (_;)

I did put it into DMZ mode so i thought that would have taken care of it but like you I am not to clued up in all the tech stuff........i just done that before as someone said it was a fix. I'll need to check it's still in DMZ. Maybe i still need to do the port forwarding but i would need to be told what to do?!

There is no new firmware for the dgn2200 so if it is related to a buggy modem router you will have to wait on netgear fixing it.

Anyways log into the router and disable any parental options, qos , bandwidth limiters etc.

whilst logged in enable DHCP (probs already enabled) and enable UPNP ( the fact you got a NAT type 2 is the best you can get given you're using a modem/router) so Nat is fine which indicates Upnp is already on and working or (semi working) setup your ps3 with easy network options eg the auto for ip dns etc

You should try setting the wireless mode to b only or b /g only and take it off b/g/n etc or n (20/40mhz) change the channel as well and if you are using WPA try using WEP or no security to see if the issue remains. It might just be EA servers are rubbish or that your DSL/ has gone down hill eg there is a fault on your line

try http://www.speedtest.net/ and http://www.pingtest.net/ or find your dsl line stats in router config
