Finally sorted somewhere to stay this weekend for Silverstone Renault World Series....beats driving long hours!

We're staying in Coventry....can anyone recommend anywhere decent to go?

Food/Drink(for him not me!) etc etc?

I have googled things but the usual is popping up, cinema/bowling...

Anyone any ideas?

Rep given for any help :)

Depends what style of food you are after really and whereabouts you are staying- plenty of choice.

If in centre of town Old Orleans (behind IKEA and next to Skydome Cinema) does a good meal. My personal favorite in cov is Habibi's (Middle Eastern) in Far Gosford St. For Chinese "wing Wah" Restaurant is a 5-10min taxi from town centre (on the A45) & ticks all the family boxes - buffet style, eat all you want. Turmeric Gold (spon St) is good for Indian and in city centre itself. If you are prepared to travel a bit, Kenilworth is a short hop and "Raffles" on the High St is a FANTASTIC Malaysian - also for upmarket pub restaurant in a lovely setting, there is The Bear at Berkswell (timbered building, watch your head on the beams)

As for things to do - within the city the Cathedrals (new one and bombed one) are worth a look and the Art Gallery is opposite . There is an excellent Transport museum next to the main bus station, Kenilworth Castle (about 6 miles), Warwick Castle a bit further out but an easy drive - the grounds are excellent if it stays this hot. Ryton Organic Gardens, Hatton Locks on the canal towards Warwick, or Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve for wandering around. Rugby Museum at Rugby? Catch the train (Virgin, 20 mins with only one stop at the airport) into Birmingham and "do" the Bullring etc (but actually shopping isn't bad in coventry itself, HUGE primark, IKEA in city centre, the market won market of the year last year, plus Debenhams and the usual chains)

The Odeon is a modern multiscreen in city centre with ice rink next door, bowling a bit further out.

Drop me a pm if I can help with any more specifics
