1st place springs to mind, and is 4 for 3 on homestyle items.

Asda do some good household bits,as do Matalan if you not too picky about it being top quality.

Try house and home [was poundstretchers] and woolworths sometimes have good deals.
Hope you are happy in your new home. you only live about 20 miles from me.
If money is very tight try the charity shops and relatives.

The big, posh department stores not only have some of the best quality homeware items but also reduce them by a ridiculous amount (90% is common) in the last few weeks of their sales. My towels were originally £25 for bath towels and £18 for hand towels in Howell's, I got them in Jan for less than £20 for two bathrooms worth! Habitat also discount significantly at the tail end of their sale- I got six dinner plates, eight side plates, and six glasses in late Jan for less than a tenner, reduced from close to £100. The next big reductions should be in August if you can wait that long :) NB i've always found that the stuff left at the end of the sale is great quality, and often repriced to RRP if it doesn't sell.

thanks all i can wait until the end of aug for most things espec cos i start a permanent job so money wont be so tight then.. woohoo more shopping for me :)

As your renting...

Make sure that any gas appliance has been checked in the last year...

This has to be organised every year by the landlord...

Change all lightbulbs to energy saving bulbs where you can...

Enjoy your new home...

CONGRATS!!!

When I moved into my first home a few years ago we pretty much got everything from Ikea and Argos, sure you will find some great deals, remember it takes a while to build things up so dont feel you have to get everything straight away
