I think David Moyes might be doing something a bit more substantial in his pants - after todays result.

Bendtner is 52?????

Oh...

Bendtner started the new season by announcing a change in his squad number. "Before the season starts I wanted to change my squad number from 26 which I’ve obviously had for a number of seasons. I chose to move to 52 because it’s a special number to me personally, and I hope that it brings me good luck for the new season.

"I appreciate that a good number of fans have bought their kits for 2009/10 already with names and numbers printed up so I’d like to personally cover the cost of replacing anyone’s shirt that has my previous number. It means a lot to see supporters wearing your name and number, and I want to ensure people aren’t inconvenienced by the change."

Chelsea and Arsenal for first and second?

How good were Arsenal? Only equalled by the sheer stupidity/confusion of how to play football by Everton? Just waiting for that mid table mediocrity known as Man City to be on now. Whoop whoop.

Nobles goal was something special also wasn't it? Decent opening day of the Premiership (instead of the usual stalemate dirge that it often throws at us)

And did you know.....................

This is the only time since the Premier League/Premiership started that there have been 4 teams beginning with the letter B in it

So, who is your team muffin247?

I'm full blue blooded City and quite excited about what lays ahead. At least I know we aint gonna be flirting with relegation this season which is or was always a worry before the usual Prem kick off. Think we have a chance of making the top 4; if we can keep our home form (that we had last season) and turn our away form around by 50% then we have a real chance. Damn fine result for us today. We never win at B'burn; so that's a great start for us. But, as we are the "new kids on the block" in that CL qualifying scramble I reckon the others will up the ante. Arsenal looked pretty awesome today. Chelsea were average at home but still won (and that is always a worry for the others scrapping it out at the top). Be interesting to see what L'pool do tomorrow as they've not had a good preseason.

Plenty of good goals today, Drogba, Rodalega, Adbeyor, Fabregas, Ireland and of course my favourite from Noble.

Sears scored a good goal for Palace but for some bizarre reason it was disallowed.

Yeah; heads will roll for that disallowed goal. Aint gonna be a more freakish ref/linesman decision all season
