But hang fire because I'm unsure I've done the right thing and hence wondering if anyone else had encountered them. They do seem to be the cheapest around and the sales guys were brilliant, it's the rest of the process that seems to be going pear shaped!

They dont seem that much cheaper from the fireplaces ive seen around (like B&Q etc..)

We looked long and hard for the one we wanted and managed to get it for a good price at the fireplacemegastore, however, I now find out that they only do customer services via email who have been closed since 19th December and don't return until tomorrow. It may all turn out okay in the end but so far, I'm very unimpressed - would just be nice to speak to a person who can help!

It's a shame in this day and age when you panic because you didn't pay via credit card. I've already been stung via MFI and am still waiting for my money back and the lack of contact (albeit possibly due to the Christmas Break) isn't doing much to make me feel better!

My experience has not been good. I made an honest mistake when ordering a fire which foolishly I owned up to rather than being dishonest and using the 7 day cooling off period. First they flatly refused to do anything stating they had supplied the fire I ordered.
When I asked them to re-consider they wanted 20% restocking fee which worked out at over £100 plus the additional cost of the fire plus I would have the extra cost of returning the fire a total of nearly £200 extra.

I didnt mind paying a restocking fee but considering we had not even opened the box I thought this to be very excessive. Also I would have thought in the present climate they would have valued all custom and not taken such a aloof and excessive stance.

Just be very very careful you order the correct fire as they have bundle very simular fires together on the web site and mistakes can be made which I have founld to my cost.

We've had a bit of a nightmare with this company. They sent us fire with one piece missing and the wrong grate! Missing piece turned up in envelope after we complained but we now We have to pay a fitter to come back and fit it for us. And we haven't herd a peep about the wrong grate. Their customer service is email only and is shockingly bad! Wish we'd paid a bit more for a more professional company...
