Spent a few quid but very dissapointed at the wow factor.. even the kids were looking at the proper display fireworks we could see from afar and not interested in ours... humph!!

What ever happend to airbomb repeaters and screamers ?? Rockets nowadays sound and look like... well i could make a loader noise after a tin of beans. Things just aint what they used to be :-(

You should hear them where I live, they're going off left right and centre, doesn't help I live in the inner circle of a crescent. They are VERY loud, the local low flying RAF jets would be hard to hear next to some of these crackers.

Same here, precisely the same, except for the RAF jets.

I guess it all comes down to what you can afford. Obviously if you are struggling to put food on the table and pay the bills, fireworks would clearly be a low priority.

I haven't had a personal display (fnar fnar) for about 6 years, but local displays are normally worthwhile. Tonight we are going round friends and taking a few expensive rockets. Those coupled with everyone else's, should be a decent display. Strangely the kids are less interested than the parents!

I think the problem is that you are following the safety instructions written on the packet. Disregard them entirely, and the fun begins.
