Hi,

I am looking to go to Australia at Christmas time for the Ashes, and was wondering what the cheapest way is to fly.

I am looking to go to Singapore then Perth, then Melbourne, then Sydney, then Hong Kong, then Home!!

Because of the amount of flights and the time of year, its going to be very expensive, cheapest poss. flights i have found are £4353.90p!!!! (For 3 people)

So, could any of you very helpful people give me some tips on finding cheaper flights, or specific airlines that have cheap flights ???

the very max you should be paying is £800 return and that is peak time at xmas, should find something for less this far away

skyscanner
netflights
travelsupermarket

try and use your stop over on the way or way back for the asian destination and then use webjet.com.au to get domestic flights in oz

flights change so much mate, i keep an eye on the specials on netflights and travelsupermarket

all depends when and where you fly to.....getting from perth to sydney is around a 4 / 5 hour flight on its own

what they coming up with? internals?

try and pick airline which stops in singapore on way there and get off......wont cost you any more

it will take some time to scan through all airlines but definitely worth it

It might be cheaper if you flew to Kuala Lumpur, then got a sperate flight from there.
And if you want to see Singapore, you can get cheap flights to there from KL too.

as dark knight suggests sometimes it is cheaper to fly into another country and get internal flights as they are so cheap around asia

i did this when the other year to get to thailand......got the coach from malaysia to KL saved around a 100 quid

takes some perseverance and patience to check different dates and routes but the savings can be considerable

i would help you out but ive got my own to start planning soon.....keep putting it off....although mine will be 1 way to oz:)

il be interested in replies to this thread also.looking at perth in november, wnt last year in october 2 adults £980 return with brunei airlines not bad flights but the airport in brunei is a dump and for all the flights ive looked at for them you have to spend a considerable time there sat about.
the cheapest we found was air asia.london-kuala lumper then perth this included a 2 night stay in KL this was around £960 iirc.however lookin in last few days its gone upto a grand just to get to kuala lumpur!
