Like you see on movies, is it easy to grab someone by the arm and flip them over?

Try it.

Couldn't say. Next time you see an elderly person struggling to cross the road pretend to go to help them over and try it. Only downside is they may just crumble.

My friend does Twykwandoe, or some next level martial arts. He did it to me once, made it look simple, but good way to break someones arm in the process, didn't break mine though I'm too hard.

No its not. You probably couldn't do it unless you knew what you were doing and your opponent didn't see it coming. If they are expecting it, or resisting, you're going to have to apply a lot of force, and if you don't do it exactly right, its easy for them to turn it back onto you.

What you're seeing is stunts and dramatics - movie fu basically. Movies are made to be entertaining.

Well you just **** on my parade. :D

Thats what I do...
#12
Dare I ask why you want to know if this is possible??!! :giggle: :whistling:

As Evy pointed out, Movie Fu...

Don't forget, if flipping someone during a gang brawl, the rest of your foes won't wait (as if waiting for their turn)...

Bare this in mind when running vigilante through the streets of the 'pool...

Yes it can be done, But only if the other person isn't expecting it!

I was flipped over and it nearly ripped my arm out of my socket, Not recommended........
#15
Your better off just kicking them in the nads
#16
Or a right/left hook by the ear, Hit them near the temple and they'll be KO on the floor........
#17
Punch them in the solar plexus they won't breathe properly for a min, then do as Iom says. Bound not to miss ;-)

its very possible actually, never looks quite as flashy as in the movies but judo is very legitimate.

as far as kung fu, karate or taekwondo are concerned, you are better off staying away. train in martial arts that are tried and tested against resisting opponents. watch ufc (ultimate fighting championship) on bravo, you'll see that it comes down to boxing, kickboxing, olympic wrestling, judo and submission wrestling and brazillian jiujitsu.

Kyokushinkai is karate and that trains against resisting opponents and spars full contact. Don't tar all martial arts with the same brush. Its not always the art, its the school teaching it and the teachers ethics/views on MA. I've been to kickboxing classes were they refused to do any contact, and karate schools were I got battered. It's not always black and white.

Quick kick in the goolies then smash their head on your knee as they bending over normally works good :)........
