As an ex florist, I would advise you that any of the companies like teleflorist, Interflora etc will eat up a large chunk of your £30 budget before you even begin!

£30 in shop will get you a very basic bouquet - you will normally be looking at a minimum of £45-£50+ for a red rose bouquet. Remember St. Valentime's and Mother's Day are the 2 most expensive times to buy flowers!

Your best bet would be to find out the name of a florist local to your girlfriend and phone them directly and place your order straight with them. They will accept cards over the phone and also write a message from you onto a card.

Also bear in mind that many are superstitious about sending/ receiving red and white flowers in the same bouquet as this can be considered unlucky (it signifies blood and bandages!).

Hope some of that is of help to you.

*Warning* Ive ordered from some of the cheaper ones before and they send through royal mail so you gf gets a box with the flowers in, normally unopened, you then put them in water and the flowers open.. worth to pay the extra if you want them to get a power bouquet.
#11
Yeahh im only going too send red!
So I should go with my local florist?
#12
You can order now for Valentine's Day so it is all done and dusted. But that would be my advice - local company has to maintain a reputation, I shudder at flowers going through any postal system and you will get slightly more for your money.

They will also be presented much nicer as they don't need to be packaged to withstand the post. Also, it is lovely to open the door to a florist's delivery - extra brownie points for being thoughtful! ;-)

I got some of these a while back - they were beautiful when they opened and lasted almost a month

Not sure how much they cost - you will have to ask the person who sent them

That sounds really sweet of the person....are you still gonna share the chocs with me before they expire or are you waiting for your prince charming to arrive? :giggle:

P.S Most of these flowers normally last no more than a week or 2.....so the flowers must of really loved you and didn't wanna leave you on your own. ;-)

Is it something you ate.....you should really be careful in the kitchen....food poisoning isn't a laughing matter. :giggle:

P.S To the OP, I would recommend ordering flowers via courier, which you can choose the day you want it to be delivered for a few pounds more. ;-)

If you want it hand delivered, you're gonna have to speak to your local florists, as internet sites can't hand deliver from across the country. :)

Speak to a few local florists and see how much they'll do it for.
