Flying Ant Day is an informal term for a day on which queen ants emerge from the nest to begin their nuptial flight.

Mating takes place during flight.

One queen will usually mate with several males.

So would that be like going on a ryanair flight and trying to fit as many people in the toilet for a quickie?

There were loads near Rood End in Oldbury today. I went to the butchers with my son and then the newsagents and they were everywhere! I saw my mate and her mate was legging it off as the ants were everywhere. It was really gross and I had a few fly on me too :'( I'm really squeamish lol
#32
Tons of the damn things here in Wiltshire, in fact tons of ants full stop here this year in our garden.
#33
Really? Maybe nearer the cotswolds but Swindon is obviously too 'prole' for the queen! :-D
