Glyfada is a nearby resort although be prepared for low flying planes depending on wind direction.

I'm sure there are others but that's the only one I have stayed at. Too many years ago to recommend or not to be honest :)

jump on the underground to the port of piraeus (couple of quid, sod the taxi) then you can have the choice of boats to approx 500 islands, many of them idyllic.

way better than the mainland, trust me.

You can get a taxi to Loutraki for about 75 euro. It is close to the Corinth canal, has a pebble beach but the water is fantastic. Loads of good restaurants and the biggest casino in Europe so plenty to do of an evening. Last time I was there they were building a high speed train link that may be up and running by now. Hope that helps

Totally agree with that although I was under the impression the OP needed to stay near Athens ??

Hop on a boat, go to somewhere like Ios , you won't ever regret it.
