Yeh good idea.
Good luck with it.
I wouldn't mind some tips too.... talk about weight creeping on.

There's a few about currently dieting or aswell as the many others who are on and off them like me lol, well for me more like cutting out the rubbish.

Diet? dont be a wimp get your butt to the gym and just eat clean, ive never had to diet simply because I exercise properly and eat proper home cooked meal (95% of the time lol)

The one good tip is to cut out convenience food and cook.
Also, you may not release how much you snack.
If you work, take a home prepared lunch rather than buy one.

I don't eat a lot meal wise and am vegetarian so its not like I'm having tons of fattening meat,I don't have takeaways and fried food but my downfall is chocolate, and fizzy drinks,I don't do diet ones either.
However I'm not having any Pepsi at mo cos not taking much caffiene incase i'm ever expecting so I drink inbetween when I know I can't be lol.

Am 5ft 4" and almost 13 stone,like about 2 lbs off the 13stone mark,however I don't look it,or so many say,either that or they liars.

Get youself some body fat scales. They are useful for your body fat to body water ratio.
Cut out the ready made salad because it will have hidden calories.
You are not eating enough either. It's the right type of stuff though.

I've asked YummyMummy2202 to come post on cos she lost loads weight recently and looks fab.
#13
I know this might sound stupid, but I don't think you're eating enough. The body goes into starvation mode when we diet and it clings onto the fat.

I'm trying SW at the moment, and I've got to say, I find it hard to eat ALL the food over the course of the day. Have a look at one of there 7 day meal plans and gage what you eat against that - there's a link on here, I'll have a look in a mo and post it.

I have lost 27 pounds in 2 years.
I have done this by cutting out takeaways and eating out save for the occasional treat.
I have stopped snacking but allowed myself a good dessert.
I limit myself to 1 ready meal/frozen food, usually fish a week.
I have fresh fish and fruit.
I walk now for 80 minutes a day and you can do that by shopping, walking in your lunch hour, it all counts.
Rick Gallop or Winnie Chang's books on GI/GL diet counters are good.

I have a bowl of crunchy nut with Semiskimmed milk (never drink it all though) and a everyday, normal homemade meal (shepards pie, spag. bol., toad in the hole etc..) and this seems to work - especially if I don't cheat!!

pcnutta, what is your age and height?
For a non active person, you should take roughly 5% off your count so take about 1900 calories. (A non active person meaning those who have a desk job with limited scope for moving)

for a pudding (assuming you like pineapple) i pop pineapple slices under the grill so it's nice and warm, then maybe have some honey with it...it's my healthier alternative to pineapple / banana fritters. :)

It's true that you are not eating enough and too far apart - that is where you are going wrong.

You need to fit some healthy snacks inbetween meal times.

I am a very fussy eater so the only way I could try and lose weight was to drastically cut down how much I was eating. But then your body goes into 'starvation mode' and after a week of being constantly hungry had only lost like 1 or 2lbs.

When I joined Slimming World about 3 weeks back, I actually emailed my team leader and complained that I was surely eating too much, enclosing a detailed rundown of the day food intake.
She told me I was dong great and to keep it up - I lost 6.5lbs that week and wasn't even hungry once

That is how I truly learned how to diet.

www.slimmingworld.com has some great healthy recipes.

You will need to sign up an email address but the group password this week is 'lentil'

I highly recommend the homemade chips and one potato/chickpea dish called chana masala, oh and the rich tomato pasta sauce - they are all I have got round to trying so far.

Mrs Z is right, to starve your body will result in you piling the pounds back on.
It's like a boxer who works it all off to reach the desired weight but all they have lost is by starving and dehydrating themselves and then they pile on half a stone to gain a weight advantage.

no, i love meet, i could live on it, but i got mental block that i have to live on salads!
( i really should be eating red meat as im anemic)

im really getting hungry now, im still at work... finish :@ 9.00
Too late to eat now though isnt it?, apprently you shouldnt eat after 7.00
Maybe bowl of cereal when i get home, although id love to eat some meat!

Joined Slimming World 4 weeks ago and have lost 11.5 lbs so far! Got a lot to lose, but I wanted to lose just a stone by the time I take my daughter on holiday and that is next week, so I MIGHT make it! I f not, it doesn't matter, I've made a start and I intend to carry on after our holiday. OH has lost 7lbs and he only really needs to lose 1 stone in total, and daughter has lost 2.5 lbs just because she is eating the same as us, and that is whilst she is doing GCSEs and needs the odd chocolate bar to keep her spirits up. I'd DEFINITELY recommend SW.
Good luck with the weight loss xx

you're starving yourself so your diet is not going to work.
It good that you like meat because if you read about the GL diet (like GI), you can eat lots of meat and veg because they are low carb high protein diets.
They stop you from feeling hungry.
Meat is not bad as long as it is lean. Also drink fluids with your meal, it makes you feel fuller, quicker.

This is a great GI/GL site and explains why normal diets don't work.
