Hi i stupidly reformated my laptop without copying down the product code for FM09, lost my manual and now decided I want to become the next (Sir Alex, Rafa, Ancelloti - whoever you like). I have it installed on my bros laptop, is there anyway of getting the product code of the game from that?

If you installed via Steam like you're supposed to and didn't use a work around, then there's an easy way to get it. Download Steam if you haven't already, then log in with the same Steam ID which is associated with the game. When you're there, it should appear under "My Games" and "INSTALLED". Right click Football Manager 2009 and click "View game CD key". Another window should pop-up with the product code/CD key with the option to copy it to the clipboard. You could obviously write it down as well so you have a hard copy.

I'm playing the game at the moment and I've never had the need to reinstall. It's possible that if it's already associated with your Steam ID, you might not need to enter it again, but I really don't know. Anyway, that's how you view your CD keys.

Did it work?

Unfortunately not. Because i had to reformat, it meant steam says football manager no longer installed so not able to get product key. Brother installed it the other way for some reason...
