What a disgusting country we live in, full of homegrown sexpests way before the migrant boats arrived.

Title should probably read 'abuse' scandal.

All these scandals are from the same era, I would hope/expect that anything remotely close to this scale does not and never will happen again. Was probably worse in earlier generations but no way of knowing for sure.

Was that in America? When a fake news outlet claimed a ring was being run in a pizza shop and a man came stormed in with a gun killing/injuring someone?

not very historical are they Dave ! it's in the presence of the time for the victims . they want justice while they are alive.

I've always felt that the UK took a rather 'preachy' approach to such matters when they occurred in other parts of the world - quick to focus on inequalities amongst other nations, communities, cultures etc. Almost looking down on them.

Yet, what seems to have transpired is that we have a carefully developed / organised paedophile ring operating here on our own lands, with so many senior authorities & agencies almost complicit in the abuse, whether that involved ignoring it, covering it up, paying victims off or whatever!

I know the tabloids prefer stories such as the Rotherham or Rochdale abuse because it fits in with their agenda - get the natives angry...

As a football fan, I am still in a state of shock over what has come out over the last 2-3 weeks - the accounts are harrowing to read. As a parent, I have sent my lad to football training sessions/courses, trusting the set up 100%....I shudder to think what could've happened!

Anyway, thats my rant over!

In my opinion, this is one crime that you NEVER get justice for the victims because it robs them of theirr childhood & youth. No compensation or retribution is adequate unfortunately

the victims seem a little too old for the crimes to be current, don't you think?

Football has always been corrupt and always will be. The only thing football people are interested in is money, and lots of it. If someone was making a profit out of what these paedophiles did then you can be absolutely certain that any allegations about them would have been swept under the carpet.

Anyone who thinks that the same sort of thing isn't still going on needs a reality check. The problem is that the lure of little Johnny making £1m a week as a Premiership footballer is enough to keep most avaricious parents from asking too many questions about their boy's football coach. And the same lure that the club to which he is signed might be able to sell him for £50m in five years time will stop them asking as well.

Football, Scouts, Cubs, Church, Orphanages, Mental Asylums, Hospitals, TV

Every institution in Britain has been effected by child abuse.

Its time we all faced facts. Britains history is rife of sexual abuse, whatever institution you look at.

Dont forget Politicians / Govt!

Although they've been highly adept at deflecting blame/accusations...usually by pleading insanity or dying!

It's always been with humanity. :(

I very much doubt there's ever been a time in the history of humanity that sexual abuse of one sort or another hasn't taken place. :(
