I switched form Orange to plusnet and was offline for a couple of days, so not too much of a problem, and plusnet were very helpful in getting me up and running again - they even phoned me back to help with the set up rather than 'waste my phone bill'.

ADSL with a MAC code downtime should be 5 - 30 mins thats all. Couple of jumpers need ran in the exchange thats all. You'll lose dial tone and ADSL for this time. Should take a good jumper man about 5 mins to do the job
