what is your favourite childrens book that you secretly love but dont admit it. E.g. The BFG or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory etc. I need a fairly easy book as i have to buy and understand the french equivalent.

thanks for all the responses guys. i think i will probably go for "im going on a bear hunt" because i loved it and i should be able to read it and understand. i kinda have to have some idea of the story and i used to love this one as a kid. I would go for the enid blyton ones but i never read those as a kid.

Lol, at least i can read it to my girls without stopping to laugh now :lol:

i have all the old versions from when I was little, might have to buy a new copy for them. Do they still sell her gollywogg book btw or was that banned?
