Surely they are not actually avoiding the word filter, as in this context they are purely trying to describe a group of people, not the merchant?
#7
Out of interest, would the minimum processor setting (under power options) in Win 7 achieve this?

I gave an explanation, however rather than acknowledge this, you seem to have changed your approach. Not surprising really.

Thread was read before posting, to not do so would be somewhat pointless...

Lets say I am someone who overclocks their PC, and therefore would have some knowledge about what the OP is asking. By definition that would make me an over_clocker, i.e. someone who overclocks.
I have no link to a certain merchant, and in fact may not even have known that a merchant exists with a conflicting name, however BY DEFINITION if I overclock, I am an over_clocker, in the same way that if I swim I am a swimmer, and if I build I am a builder.

In the context of the OP it is quite clear that by over_clocker_s the OP was referring to that collective of people who overclock, and not some merchant. In fact if they did mean the merchant the subject of the posting would make considerably less sense (or rather would make considerably less sense than the original subject. The fact that it is now starred out means that it makes even less sense!).

It may help if you read the thread in context before moderating it. Not being cheeky, just stating the facts.

Guys, I don't think the stars were done by a mod it was done automatically so it must of been a filter...

At the time I couldn't understand why over_clockers was a rude word... But now I understand its because its a merchants name

If the opening post has a date and time you will be able to see I posed to the second post literally 20 seconds after I hit submit

Mafia,

You are correct, I merely explained as to why it happened, unfortunately your thread was hijacked by others with a different agenda.

Mafia,

No agenda here :)

An explanation would have been "It starred out over_clockers because that is also a merchant name".

However;
You're avoiding the word filter again (merchant name)
does come across more as an accusation, which I think is what caused the issues above. Misunderstanding I think is all :)

Funder,

The point is/was - it's not a big deal, the op knows the score and rather than being explicit, I made light of the situation (including smiley)...

However some may attempt to seize this as an opportunity to have a go as has happened in this thread.

Regards
