Both my girls were just over 1 as neither had reached the 20lb weight guide. But I know lots who were much younger as they outgrew their baby seats before they were one.

Go by weight, I think my lo was in his at about 7.5 months because he was the correct weight. Keep them rear facing for as long as possible, it is the safest way!! xx

20 lb is all that matters, not the age. My daughter is 14 months and only 18lb odd. She certainly doesn't take after me!

They have to be the correct weight and able to support their head, my youngest was in her carry seat well over 12 months but her brother was in a forward seat just past 6 months as he was too heavy for the rear facing seats.

thank you all, she is 18lb so will leave her in carry car seat thing. :)

Go by weight, but really the longer you leave them facing backwards - the better. Mine said until their head was above the top of the seat - and thus had no support in the event of a collison. I know it's a pain trying to strap them in backwards (mine are anyway) but it really is safer. My little girl is 15 months, and I've just turned her chair around.

yeah makes sense, they get bored backwards, but she does have a good view of her brothers so i guess safety first!!

Hehe, she used to have a great view of her brothers (7 seater, so they were in the 'boot' and she was in the centre) but now they can fight over who sits where, and evidently the boot is the place to be.

this was advice we got too, mine was alot happier forward facing though but with the siblings shouldn't matter so much for you.

Spent 2 nights in hospital, but she's feeling sick again at home barely eating anything makes me angry though as I feel like she's not looking after our baby :(

Just had the letter through about private rooms £485!! per night!

Sorry to butt in, but what is the private room bit about? If it's on the maternity ward (like for when she gives birth and what-not, ask discretely about amenity rooms. At my hospital they have four or five 'private' rooms, for particularly sensitive patients to use - but if they are available you can ask for one at a low charge, it was £30 a night when I was there, but it's a proper full room, TV ensuite bath etc, and they never charged me anyway! If she could be classed as a sensitive patient (like potentially miscarrying on a ward full of new babies (which is how I WAS treated and found it very distressing) or suffers from acute stress or anxiety surrounded by strangers) then just take a nurse to one side and explain. Often they can help, and if you've a valid reason they will do their best. If it's just a 'I want a private room because I'm far too posh to ward with the rest of you commoners' request, chances are they'll ignore you, or you fork out the price you quoted for the pleasure! Beside that point, I hope your wife is well, or gets well soon. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum (EXTREME morning sickness) and it's NASTY. Sounds like what she's got. Try not to be cross with her - she's not doing it on purpose!! :)

Crikey. Go for a home birth. Mind you, I did that too, and still ended up having all three in hosp, as they were lazy little sods who didn't want to be born at all!

dont pay it. they should have told u and made u sign a contract BEFORE u went to amenity room saying u would pay it which has to be countersigned by a member of staff.

Not really her mum has been buying her loads of sugary foods which i don't agree on. She ate a jacket potatoe earlier. Getting tired of all this cooking cleaning washing working nights. She's having a little cry now because i'm at work and she has to get out of bed to get her own drinks lol. She's going to try and go back to work tomorrow.
