Worked perfectly for me ... I used a G27 racing wheel and preferred it on the PC more than the xbox

what bloody settings have you set the video to? my PC plays all games that I've thrown at it on ultra 1080P, this I've had to set to 720P low settings :( I keep getting Low Video Memory error

I get 60 frames on high/ultra at 1080P. I'm running 980 Ti SLI and i7 4790K.

I was expecting to get more fps. The best frame rate saver is not using MSAA.

Works fine for me on a 970/i7 but i have heard that it runs well for 90%ish of people and badly for the unlucky 10%, with no clear reason why. Just one of the few downsides of being a PC gamer!

Have you managed to get it working properly with the G27? It sort of works for me but can't use the shifter and it doesn't use the full 900° of the wheel

I'm using the G920 and having no problems with the wheel, just the shoddy port Microsoft have made of a game series I love

Frame rates everywhere for me.
No doubt I'll get burned on my cpu but no game other than batman arkham knight has such dips.
I7 2600k (overclocked) 980ti.
Hopefully this new windows 10 game mode might help it.
I just learned to deal with it.
Strange how it other than cities can act randomly.

Just to add it's the same in 4k as it is in 1080p with frames being everywhere.

see Geebeegooner, that's exactly what I'm saying, it seems like a crap port of a console game

Tbf I expect it on windows 10 store, only had one xbox/10 game work right and that was gears of war but I'm guessing due to the engine.
(Not random and annoying frame drops but stupid things like locked to 30fps)
What annoys most is you can't get proper fullscreen.
It's that strange borderless/fullscreen so my screen doesn't perform right.
I think if most people displayed fps on horizon 3 they will see frame dips.
It's annoying cause when it plays proper at 60fps for the odd few seconds it's stunning.

Oh and for me it was even worse on the blizzard mountain dlc.

yeah mine will work on ultra for about 5 mins at 1080P but then crash, whilst it's working it looks breathtakingly beautiful. The motion blur, the draw distance, the reflections, everything just looks fantastic, just a shame they did such a **** poor attempt at making it work on both :( if I were to complain, what might they do?

If bought direct you can refund, I did when I bought it first time round.
Then I bought the ultimate edition on a amazon glitch which softened the blow.
The ultimate edition is still a rip off in that sense as price wise it's ridiculous and doesn't even contain the season pass:-/
Just try and stick with it as it's an amazing and rewarding game.
Such a shame though as we shouldn't really need to.

Something not right there as I could lock at 30fps with my 970 and i5 4670 (non-K) on high. :|

Can't understand why this game causes problems for some and not others.

It's not a great port tbh. Turning on vsync helps lock it to 30. That was the best for me to be honest although it will add input lag.

it really is a very rewarding game, I played 1+2 to death but I just don't own an Xbox anymore :( I think when the Scorpio comes out I might just have to purchase a cheap second hand Xbox One

I've checked the forums and it does seem to be very hit and miss, but the forums don't seem to have found a fix :( I just don't know what to do because I do love this series of games

Worked fine for me at 30 fps (2600k, 1070)
As soon as i tried cranking it up to 60 fps it all went to ****. Seems to be a very CPU limited game, if you check resource monitor while it's playing you'll probably notice that the first core is totally swamped and the others are underutilised.
Turning off hyperthreading might've helped in theory, but i just stuck with 30 fps in the end.

sorry mate but I don't know much about this sort of thing, what would the benefit be of doing this?

PC gamers these days... Don't even know what autoexec.bat is?!??

And people think moving a couple of sliders in advanced graphics settings is a load of faffing about...

we all have to start learning from nothing, am I right?

Joking of course... I think anybody that gamed on PC prior to Windows XP probably still remembers the pain of messing
about with config.sys/autoexec.bat etc.
Games these days usually just auto detect your settings and you're good to go. (FH3 being a case in point for me... Worked perfectly on the auto detected 30fps, but only had issues if I tried changing to 60)

my point is that in my Steam library I've got games that I would assume use up loads of my pc resources but display in 1080P Ultra with out frame drops, but then this at 720P Low still dropping frames, is there something I've overlooked or is it just poorly optimised for certain CPU/Graphics cards?

The 2GB VRAM is probably why you can't run the game. Most newer games now-a-days require minimum 4GB-6GB.

I've just looked online at the recommended specs for FH3 and they're ridiculous, game is poorly optimised for PC :(

I've a 980ti (6gb Vram) and 16gb on board and running terrible.
I'm never going to run at locked 30ps on PC because it's not what I bought it for.

As for config file windows locks you out of snooping within windows store games.
Even showing hidden files under your hdd/ssd settings doesn't make them become visible.

if Microsoft want this Play Anywhere thing to be a success, they've got to optimise the games better

Just pulling your leg mate, I remember installing cannon fodder on 3.5 floppy disks and then waiting over a week for my uncle to bring a mouse driver round as mine didnt work with it..
