Four lions-offensive?? should be banned?

A lawyer for the families of the victims of 7/7 in London has just been on the bbc news-they are seeking a ban on this film in all uk cinemas.

I am going to see it this weekend-chris morris is usually very funny imho.It allegedly ridicules suicide bombers-from the trailers I think it looks funny. I despise censorship of this kind.

As usual of course, the families havent actually SEEN the film, they are just offended by the concept of it. The ban probably has no chance of succeeding but arentcha just sick of the "ban brigade"?

No...............the idea is we can find dark humour in tragic events something that sets us apart from terrorists we don't want them invading our freedom to be able to watch or make films on certain subjects, they have the won.

If you know you are going to find it offensive, then don't go and watch.

Why does any film involving islam or the likes provoke some idiot to ask for a ban.

All the more publicity for Chris Morris and the production team, when will these types ever learn.
There is always someone just itching to be offended usually on someone elses behalf.

it just reminds me of the mary whitehouse brigade years ago who constantly called for banning of things they had "heard about" but not actually seen-quite sad really imho.

Yeah sick of 'em.

Event happened 3 years ago. Yeah it was horrific but hey South Park is on every week with more controversial stuff than this.

If you are offended then don't watch it, don't rain on everybody else parade I say.

This is great news for the film makers, and Free publicity for their movie, excellent, should ensure its not a box office bomb, excuse the pun

Looks like a good movie. This story will soon be forgotten.

its probably just the media hype they require to sell more tickets, yet again the British public get played for fools, or am i just cynical, lol.

im a bit pee'd off that not many cinemas are showing this, none in derby are this weekend at least !

There will always be stories like this. Even the Daily Mail (who else?) managed a story criticising Kick Ass for having a violent pre teen character who swore a lot, and she was the best character in the film by far. From what I have seen this film has a lot of promise, and should be judged solely on whether or not it is a good film.

+ 1,000,000

It's free publicity though so it's all sweet.

Comedy and films in general should have no boundaries - If they are offended by the event, well, what about those whose relative have been murdered via shooting, stabbing etc - Most films wouldn't be released in that case. (I'm aware it's a generalisation and not of a specific event but shush)

Saw the news story and snippets of the film. Looks very funny.

It doesn't mock the victims or events, it mocks the would be terrorist. All in all, a fine target to mock.
