Before I went to a gig last night-popped into the tv studios to see frankie recording some material for his new channel 4 show "tramodol nights"-its a mixture of stand up and sketches.
To be honest, although I think he is funny, some of the sketches are extremely lame-but he has a running sketch theme throughout the series where famous people are being given errm "hand relief" by others-i.e. wonderwoman/superman.
The final scene of the final show will have a sketch where jesus is on the cross and to relieve his suffering the disciples have a whip round and hire a prostitute to give him aforementioned relief.
I can just imagine the furore when the tabloids see this one! Like I said,Ive always liked his stand up,but I reckon this may be a step too far,and lets be honest-he knows it.The audience seemed very uneasy with that scene-not a single laugh that I could detect.
Offensive or funny?
