dark water (jap version, english version not so good in comparison)

one missed call

Not watched yet but The Eye and [Rec] are meant to be very scary. These are new films so you may have to wait to buy them if you don't have alternative means to view them:whistling:

saw films are very good,
creep is......creepy
#5
Not necessarily scary, but I would say Oldboy just for the fact that personally it has been the one film I have seen in recent years that really does blow you away! Brilliant!
#6
Somebody has told me 'Black dog on shoulder' is really scary but i can't seem to find it in blockbusters, Has anyone else heard of it?
#7
The Orphanage is meant to be scary, it's in spanish though.
#8
I thought halloween was pretty scary
#9
Ichi the Killer, seriously disturbing.

Yet to see but Teeth could be either very funny or quite uncomfortable for men to watch. lol
#10
texas chainsaw - the original

But tbh the most scared i've been has been whilst playing condemned on xbox 360 (original one not the second) it's so scary

creep... funny when u see the monster but still puts me off travelling on the tube.
#12
Phone.....just watched this the other day very good thriller and a bit scary.
#13
I thought Creep was rubbish.

Ghosty films scare me most.

Watched Grudge again on telly the other night - that film scare the **** out of me!
The Ring too but not as much

Saw films are good - haven't watched number 4 though

micowave massacres
the living dead at a manchester morgue
peaniceslashers
#15
[Rec] - Is that film in English or Spanish?
#16
I've acquired REC (spanish) and trying to put english subs on it using the .idx file...

as for ghosty films, 1408 scared the hell out of me...

seen quite a few Jap films, dark water, ring, audition (weird n twisted, just the way i like em)...

creep with the strange screaming creature/guy/whatever he was...

Acquiring fido (ROM/ZOM/COM, Billy Connelly)

seen loads of Zombie films( Ed!, we don't use the z word, fancy going to the Winchester).

Going to be well and truely hammered on Saturday evening, playing condemned 2, then watching some horror films. Just want something thats pant fillingly scary lol

That scared me, i used to play it in the dark.
When the mannequins came alive in the store, that spooked me,

Yeah that [Rec] is spanish but it's rumoured that it's going to be remade in America pretty sharpish. Its filmed like a documentary in real time following some firefighters and then gets scary when loads of Zombies are discovered in a block of flats or something.

1. The Descent

2. When a stranger calls (original version)

At the end of the day, no film will be scary when watched in broad daylight with some mates having some beers.

Always try to watch on your own in the dead of night with all the lights out and your sofa's back facing the slightly ajar door :)

Scares the hell outta me when good horror watched like as above.

British Horror The Descent (2005). Relentless tension and no CGI. There was a bundle on here a few days ago for this, Dog Soldiers and 28 Days Later. All three are set to be classic British horror movies.

Surely, the descent has lots of cgi in the cave.

fantastic film. Recommended it to a friend. he said it was awful and then I found out he watched it in the middle of the day!

The Grudge

csiman, Descent used blue-screen, models and make-up. Tension is achieved through clever direction, solid acting and believable characters. There is actually less going on in the film than you imagine. Dog Soldiers is almost a parody. Notice the scene where a character 'changes' under a table. It's like an old hammer movie. Script and characterisation in Dog Soldiers is also excellent - like AWiL Dog Soldiers has that great balance of thrill and humor.

Both are showcases on what a modest budget can achieve with the right script, actors and director.

Peter Jacksons - Bad Taste

Thanks for the info. I have never jumped so much in any film ever before and every dark corner the actors went around actually caused me to hide behind my hands or look away!

And I'm far from timid and easily scared. Guess it was because I watched it late one winters night in the dark on my own :-D

I'll say The Shining just for the hell of it, I didn't find it scary though.

Kinda relevant but funny check the redux of the trailer if you haven't done so before.
