There are no free convertors out there as they all have watermarks on them!!

I use ConvertXtoDVD which is good and works with Vista and this can be downloaded from any torrent site or Rapidshare?

ConvertXtoDVD is probably the best ATM if you don't mind downloading warez. As has been mentioned Nero Vision will also do it.

If you insist on freeware try Avi2DVD

note that basic nero suite does not convert avi files unless you purchase the DVD plug-in (or download it elsewhere ;)

sorry mate my link was a dud... try this http://koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html

i only use their burner but it is good so the rippers are probably too... try to find out how to get hold of TMPGenc 4.0 Xpress its not free but by far the best converter out there.

Hi,

I use erightsofts "Super C" to convert DVD to AVi. It is Totally free & converts almost anything to anything else (Great for converting dvd's for PSP too) :-D

www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html (Can take a couple of attemps to download exe file depending on demand)

Also other Vista compatible software out there for free is as follows;

Virus checker : - AVG 7 Free(Vista Compatable): - http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/2129071/avg-antivirus-free-edition

Spyware remover : - SpyBot Vista Compatable: - http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/2128856/spybot-search-destroy

DVD Ripper: - DVD FAB Decrypter(vista): - http://www.videohelp.com/tools/dvdfab_decrypter

www.videohelp.com/tools also lists all avalible conversion & ripping software & has some very good "How to" guide that will have you backing up your own dvd's in any size format you wish.;-)

Hope this helps, & lets hope one day Vista becomes backward compatible with older software.

If you need any more info Pm me.
