I use myp2p have done for some three years or so.
If you're gonna use it, i'd advise downloading and install the following software, now if you can, cos it gets busy therefore slow later.
Sopcast, TVU and TVAnts.
Both myp2p and justin allow you to watch in browser windows, the above are stand alone. From my own experience i find Sopcast best but the in browser ones are often closer to real time, with sopcast being "delayed" by a minute or so, perhaps more
That doesn't bother me, i prefer sopcast cos again, for me at least it's more stable, i have found justin, iraq goals and the like have dropped off and the game just vanishes.
Make sure you have a good fast internet connection cos if not, cos it's shared it makes the experience bad for you and other's cos it's all shared.
The forum there is good, lots of banter pre, mid and post game
Good luck

I have tried watching footie online and find it is all (what I have watched) very poor quality, keeps pausing / losing link and in general a right pain in the backside and really not worth it.

Am I doing it all wrong or are you guys more patient than me?

@Greg. What's your pc specs, roughly and your net connection?
I do know what you mean, it *can* be flaky and yet some days can be perfect. I watched the everton, toon and hull games perfectly using TVU and sopcast, no jumping, pauses or anything, was a good day but i have noticed since i get a better, quicker and more stable net now, 16Mb down, 1.1Mb up it's far better and easier to watch

Who's a lucky chappy on Be then!! :p:thumbsup:

But just to confirm, its more often than not that you'll get freezes etc with a slower connection. It does still happen though - even with a fast connection - just more likely with a slower one.

I often watch games at my local sports centre (when the kids are doing something) using a much slower phone modem. It still works, but often freezes which I expect is completely down to a slower line speed.

Thanks M8 ;)

Might be your set-up then yes alas but you are not alone believe me. Many times i've sat there and it's paused lol, i normally have 2 incoming streams coming in, just in case  but it's better than shelling out £30 odd for sky plus get the 3pm games. It's by no means perfect i accept that but it's good :)

I've only tried Sopcast and if you think it's the best then I wouldn't like to see the others!

Good luck OP, you'll need it.

Why not go out for a jar and watch it there?

Morning Guv, wondered when you'd strut your way in, shoulders back, head high with your new 2nd hand car salesman of a gaffer :giggle:
Pity pompey, rumour today is Sam Allardyce lmao :)

Not gonna enter into a row about this. On Monday, one stream had 12,000 viewers another 9,000 and there the ones i could see stats on. It is not perfect, it is not sky never said it was. I find sopcast easy to use, stable and works fine. If you don't, fair enough, like i say, not gonna row

True.... but not as good as investing £130 on a sat system to watch it for free on a decent TV!!! Annoyingly I cant get the one match I want to watch today! Booo!

Thanks for that link. Might look more into it, is that a stand alone dish? Do you, can you get sky channels on that set-up? How much would fitting cost on top of that? What about US channels, cos i really wanna get summat for NFL really. Cannot believe the game is on BBC2/3 today :-D alas, not the Bears :-(

What - ol' 'Arry! Long term not a good appointment, short term could be.

I think we have a thing about nicking south coast managers!

There are 2 reasons Pompey agreed.

(1) They need the money
(2) They knew Harry would just resign - so might as well get some dosh instead of nothing.

Yeah, i did smile at £5M for him

Why, who's looking for a row? Not me! I was just saying that I have had no success with Sopcast. I'm a pretty experienced computer user with a quite high spec PC and Virgin 20meg BB and have tried Sopcast a few times and NEVER got anywhere near a watchable picture. Wasn't looking for trouble at all.

iv downlaoded sopcast now just trying to suss out how to use it lmao :?

and i would go to the pub .. was ment to be going to hastings to watch the game .. but alas im skint
after crimbo shopping lol

Nicki.
Just go here for list of streams for the Chelsea game
Click Play next to the sopcast link but NOT NOW.
Cos you will get "channel not online" currently, you need to do this nearer the kick off
BTW [EN] means English commentary. The build up MAY be in a non English language.
Looking at that list, ESPN [EN] would be best or Best of P2P on TVU player

The higher the number in Kbps is the better quality stream but as has been discussed here, that doesn't always work that way

OK in order of asking!!!

It is a stand alone dish - but it also comes with a motor. So you could recieve a single sat, multi sat via a couple of LNBs placed strategically, or moving the dish once aligned remotely.

It is possible to get sky on it yes - but not freemans if thats what you meant? Obviously the dish would need to be pointed to the sat at 28E - and if you did that you would really need to take the motorised option. It is however possible to emulate Videocrypt and use it with a proper sky viewing card. (Best check on that though - it may be a case of buying the next model up - ie £159 all in)

Fitting - all depends on what you need. Standard install - do it yourself - its a doddle. Multi-sat more complicated - but worth trying to DIY anyway. If time is important - then expect to pay about £140 rather than faffing about. What Id suggest though, is look at the position of any sky dishes. Then draw an angle of about 30 degrees to the East and check nothing is in the way of where you'd like to position the dish.

You wont be able to pick up satellites broadcasting to the US. However, anything aimed towards Europe is a possibilty. This links shows todays games and satellites they are on. (Mind you I cant imagine why anyone would want to watch it!!!)

Just one thing of note though....

You wont be able to pick up most of the stuff listed - its only some for free. However, what you can is worth having and quite comprehensive. You will get a choice of about 8 games pretty much every weekend - and also Euro and Championship games as well. There is far more sport available for free than Setanta and Sky put together. Is that enough though!!!:p

Are you expanding to full screen with a very high resolution? Yes that wouldnt look very good - just drop the screen res. If you are saying you are getting freezes, that could well be down to throtteling
by Virgin or maybe even too many users on the channel you are watching. If youre saying its doing this on every channel, then the only explanation is the Virgin one. Ive managed good connections on my 3 phone modem - so a 20Mb connection you should have zero problems.

Wow, nice reply fella :) repped.
Am tempted, esp cos that link you sent shows NASN on there. Hmmm not sure about self install, i'd manage to break summat, me probably :)
Appreciate the reply :)

As you are asking for a specific channel - I'll take a look a bit later to see if its unscrambled. As you can see on that link - a hover over NASN shows it being on loads of sats and frequencies. As I said, most you wont get (without a subscription) but some should be ok.

One thing you'd need to be aware of though. Providers do sometimes change their encryption methods. When that happens they wont be recievable without a pucker subscription. However - something ALWAYS turns up! Its all a cat and mouse game. The hackers just drip feed new stuff - but never everything at once. And whilst it wouldnt be legal to recieve thes channels by this method in the countries they were intended, its fine to view purely because you are not depriving anyone of revenue. (Since you cant legally pay for it!) Anything for the UK though is a no no. (There are ways - but I don't do anything like that 'cos I'm a good donkey!):w00t::thumbsup:

Right... off to footie now. Just hope his team wins this week - though they are playing the team in second spot! Im not to hopeful - but you never know!

Thanks for advice but I have given up on it. Not much patience I'm afraid. I've got Sky HD and Setanta now so I don't miss many games that I want to see.
