Free International Calls from your Orange Monthly plan

Remember few months back We could all call abroad using our monthly allowance by dailing 07744/07755 numbers.

Now there is a new number which can be used on Orange which comes out of your inclusive minutes to call abroad e.g.India, Pakistan,USA,Australia etc, etc.

Just dail 07978 555 555 and then dail the international number followed by the # key

I have been using it for 2 weeks and just received my monthly bill and there were no charges.

Good luck

Added 04/08/10 Just got a text from Orange saying that from 16 August 10 calles to 07859 numbers will becharged at 20p per min

I'm afraid orange can start charging for it pretty quickly, as the price plan says:
calls to call forwarding services beginning with 07 - 20p
So keep checking :) I just rang my mum in Poland to find out, will let you know tomorow if it's from inclusive minutes.
#4
Does not work with t-mobile... says "calls to this number are not being connected, if you have dialled correctly the number is not available from this network"

Voted hot, as it probz only works with orange.

To be honest history has shown these sites are often not worth the risk and the worry of not knowing if you're going to be charged the full rate.

There are cheap services arounrd like for example www.dialaround.co.uk which have more than reasonable rates for dialing 0871 or 0845 numbers from landlines.

And this australia (wireless) 0871 754 40 40 6p

cannot be beaten.

It will be from your inclusive minutes as I have been calling India, pakistan and Usa all last week and it has come out of my minutes.

Atleast its free for now for all those guys who were stuck with the old orange contract.

There is too many numbers:oops:

Orange will spot it pretty darn fast now it's been posted here. They have systems that notice high call volumes to a particular number.

If they do then we can all use the same thread that was used back in June where there is a claus in the agreement if the cost goes up we can cancel our contracts.:)

its gonna be difficult for orange to ban these particular numbers since the prefix "079" is also used for regular mobile numbers.

make a short test call and then check your bill when it arrives and you will be able to see if you have been charged or not.

But i am 90% sure that you will be able to use these numbers on O2

IMPORTANT AMENDMENT.

O2 have now confirmed they will start charging from 28/9/2007

Visit: http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/specialnumbers which now says.

"The 20p/min rate applies on all Pay Monthly plans where customers have connected or upgraded from 27 April 2007 onwards, and calls to these numbers are not included in bundle minutes for these plans. Customers who have connected or upgraded to a Pay Monthly plan before April 27 will be charged as for standard UK fixed lines (01 & 02 numbers) up to 27th September 2007. From 28th September 2007 the rate of 20p/min will apply and calls to these numbers will not be included in bundle minutes on any plans."
