Warning about the top link, Comodo Anti-virus is still in Beta, and its a proper Betas not the google 'we'll call it beta and people will think its cool'. It still has bugs and is failing to give the same level of protection as some other programs in tests. Beta 3 is due out any day and hopefully (and knowing Comodo WILL) fix a good few of the problems. However I would not suggest this as a first choice to the average user yet.

I've posted a link to a good list of free PC protection software before and I'm too lazy to post it here. If anyone wants it ask me and I'll dig it out.

[SIZE=2]I wouldn't install Macafee on my machine even if I was paid to do so, I know that's a seemingly over the top comment but I really dislike it and find it can quite easily go wrong and grind the machine it's installed on to a halt.[/SIZE]

Lol, actually I think you were remarkably restrained. I'd of linked to the sick people on the internet thread and suggested up loading a picture of the box on the rating site they're talking about.
